  1. I remember from my machinery lectures many years ago, the tutor saying when he tested machinery for fuel consumption, they would weigh the fuel rather than use a volume measurement. Even quite small temperature variations during the day would throw the readings off, specially with a volatile fuel like petrol.

  2. Pretty stupid comments considering that you probaly rely on farmers goodwill for launching sites. If a farmer saw a dog chasing sheep in the same circumstances he could shoot it dead perfectly legally. Chasing any animal can cause heart failure, spontaneous abortion, or cause them to crash through fences potentially injuring themselves or causing crashes if they get on to roads. Still think its funny? How about if a member of the public came up to your canopy and decided to see how sharp their penknife was by cutting your risers, after all you've got plenty of them, and it would give you practice in joining them back together. Oh and isn't there a minimum 500ft height limit near building etc?

  3. I don't know if this link will work but this shows someone near weston super mare using the tag dannyweston1, low flying around houses/farm building and chasing sheep last year. If they are his sheep/buildings, fair enough but I doubt they are somehow

  4. It would be great if clicking on a link in a thread opened in a new tab instead of on the same one, so that it was easy to return to the original thread, or am I just being a techno luddite and its a setting on my computer?

  5. Hi eveyone, I live near Taunton Somerset and would like to start paramotoring. I took up paragliding and got my club pilots licence, but in 1992, and flew for a bit but I found that it clashed with work too much, and so gave it up. Is there any where near that will teach me? I would think that I would need to start from scratch as it been so long since I have flown. I am a farmer and would love to be able to see the farm from the air, now that I am older (47) I have a bit more time to devote to it. Thanks James
