  1. BMAA will be insuring the comps, so tandem could be a real possibility as long as you have third party insurance.
  2. Yes, that should be no problem. Most sites have their own local no fly areas etc and a number to contact that is on the website. http://www.ufly4fun.com/find-us.html I'll update the contact numbers for the sites shortly, but if any problems text me on 07785544378 Chilly.
  3. Just to let people know that we have opened a new training venue in Norfolk near Little Ellingham. Primarily for Paramotor Training, but microlights and the odd KENI can pop in too (PPR) Site location is on our website http://www.ufly4fun.com/find-us.html Lat/Lon 52.562445, 0.981289 British Grid: TG 02173 00257 If you know anyone in that area that wants to start paramotoring, please point them in this direction Cheers, Chilly.
  4. Hi, I have just created a public calendar for Paramotor Events in the UK. https://www.google.com/calendar/embed?s ... ope/London The aim of this calendar is to have a single calendar we can look up to see all the Comps, trade shows, Fly-Ins etc around the UK. It will also help others plan their events to avoid clashing with another event. To add an event, email ppgeventsuk@gmail.com with the dates, location and a brief description or link. If you don't see your event on there, just email me the details. Chilly
  5. Turn your lights on [sMILING FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH][sMILING FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH][sMILING FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH] VMC conditions regarding visibility would apply surely so 1500m and in sight of surface, clear of cloud.
  6. To be honest Mark, its a shame you don't compete Tandem. A real chance to represent your country at the 2016 World Paramotor Championships in London. That goes for a few more Tandem pilots in this county too..[sMILING FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH]
  7. I wouldn't compare an Aerochute with a tandem paramotor trike. 2 different animals. Eg, I've never seen an Aerochute complete a Pylon Slalom.
  8. Still wont be legal to fly your paramotor tandem trike in the UK without a permit to fly, and there aren't any permits for tandem paramotor trikes as far as I'm aware.
  9. I reckon it's around another £300 on top to register your wing with the CAA and apply the same registration to the wing, then there is the extra cost of depreciation on the wing due to having the G reg on it. Motor also needs fireproof plate with registration affixed as well. (To be fully legal)
  10. Enter the Mersea Comp and show us just how good that wing is all round Mark. Sounds like its the fastest, most economical wing out there. We dont usually get any Apco Wings, so would be interesting to see how these new ones perform.
  11. When I was Comp Director in 2013, Nucleon WRC came in top for economy tasks.
  12. I have a lot if respect for you Pete, and i'm sure you will recover from this mate, so see you at the flyins.
  13. Why aren't my emoj icons working in here?
  14. So far, we have had 1 day this year [PERSEVERING FACE] but things looking up for us in Norfolk for next week.
  15. Not third party cover Simon, this post is about travel insurance to cover accident and medical if you crash abroad etc, also death and repatriation back to the UK [sMILING FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH AND SMILING EYES]
  16. So a new year, and we will all be going on trips I presume with our paramotors, or hiring abroad. Just trying to compile a list of travel insurance providers that cover paramotoring. So if you have had any dealings with any, please post up name, and sort of service you had. Thanks.
  17. I have a permanent offer for Blue Sky Blue flying suits and accessories. Enter "Ufly4fun" at checkout and you get 15% off the total. Even better at the moment, is that they have a sale on with even more knocked off With summer around the corner, you could grab yourself a bargain http://www.blueskyblue.co.uk
  18. Admin aside... Just think of the worst case scenario if you have to ditch, and cover all bases. The Ferry will more than likely be going faster than you, and I wouldn't rely upon it as a safety net. Everything is fine while the engine is running, but these things have a habit of stopping just at the wrong time. A few have done it in the past, and so far no engine problems...but... Ramon, when he did the long flight from Spain to Tenerife had all sorts of safety measures, flotation suit, flares, radios, satellite trackers etc and a back up rescue helicopter! Good luck if you attempt it, admire your drive, but please be safe [sMILING FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH AND SMILING EYES]
  19. Looking forward to our trip to Las Candelas festival in Spain at the end of the month.
