  1. I am surprised no mention of the apco force. Do yourself a favour and look at this wing. Impressive performance whilst safe for a talented begnner
  2. I know each will have a favourite but I find the standard throttle that came with my pap to be wanting in the usability department. There must be better units out there.
  3. In the Force manual it states that it has no option to use big ears. Period, but it does a good B-line. Is this the norm for reflex wings? are there concerns here?
  4. for more info on 3v2 You may want to look at http://www.xplorer.co.za/articles/index.html and select 3 versus 2 blade props.
  5. Agreed I am not that attractive in the nude so more like 100kgs which moves the total to 150kgs. So stronger argument for the Large. what did people do before they decided to build a large?
  6. Sorry if this topic already exists I did a search but couldn't find one. Is it better to fly at the top, middle or bottom of the manufacturer weight ranges. For example, Apco Force sizing: Small=75-140 Medium=100-165 Large= 125-185 Pilot naked weight: 95kg. Motor etc: 30kg wing: 7Kg fuel: 8kg All up +/- 140kg That puts the choice highish in the Medium and lowish in the Large. Lose some body weight/smaller motor and you have a top end of the Small. What considerations or other criteria should be applied to the choice? My instinct would be Large for better glide, reduced motor noise, etc but also recognizing that I would lose some speed and agility (is this true?). Does this affect collapse resistance?
  7. I believe all that's needed is to trimmers and these are adaptions to the risers, no changes to the wing itself . I have seen another thread on this that discusses this in more detail.
  8. I am a tad confused about sizing. The PPG range for the 26 is 80-185 you are coming in at 135+- and there is a question of the next size (90-220 ) being right? This must be an issue with the wing not your weight or sizing (your 26 appears to be the right choice). From Paramania site the sink is identical on all sizes. Sure wing loading makes a difference but the weights mentioned show you to be in the middle of the 26 range. I weigh in at 95Kg nud (all up would probably be in the 140KG+). My dealer is saying the 26 is perfect, and offering me a good price, i might add. Something is not right. I am new to the sport and buying my first kit.
