  1. Curse my clumsy fingers - A & T!

To answer the other question there's loads of ways you could use paramotors in marketing. It's the use of them for personal gain that's the bugger to get over. I've had plenty of ideas myself. I'll have to goto the carribean for those though!!

Anyone know of the flying rules over there?!

  2. Hi Guys,

That's an awesome vid and even my missus said she wouldn't mind flying if she could see scenery like that! (As long as she could use the mountainboard undercarriage take off technique (MUTT!))

I do have one slight concern, which is the over the water bit. I'd want some proper safety inflation kit installed to my rig if I was doing that flight!

Propellor wise, the Merlin and later variants of the Lynx helicopters utilise BURP technology to provide amore efficient lift/thrust and later varients of the Hercules C130 have some funny twists in their propellors, presumably for the same reason.

On a geologic theme, can you see the different levels of strata in the cliffs? V. V. Nice. There's so much you can get from this hobby apart from the flying itself!

    Cheers all

  3. Yo Leggett!

I work for theambulance service in a response car and am currentlyworking on my paramedic degree.

Although I've not flown I've looked at a few bits of kit and you've got no dramas with crush syndrome or compartmental syndrome (the other name for it). You're sitting in a harness with no real pressure on your legs, soyou wouldn'tget the build up of toxins necessary for these conditions. A cushion for your bum if you'rea bean pole like me?!

Hope you get flying soon bro.

  4. My lad's proper into trains so he'd love some pics of the railway. I'd have to vet them first for suitability  Just happens I'm a bit of a train geek too!

  5. When I was first interested in PPGI had from the ground up which is an excellent introduction. More recently I have the PPG Bible which goes into a bit more depth. It'sa bit more USAcentric but the theory still holds up.

Norman - "They won't be out till the backside of next year". That's a bit of an arse - I can't wait!

  6. Hi Bignos!

I flew to the top of Snowdon on a SAR training sortie as part of my SAR Training Unit short course. It's quality although the only available landing area is (from memory) smallish. It might also be national trust who might liketo beasked... Don't forget there's the mountain railway there as well as walkers, plus the odd RAF Helo hanging around! It might be worth contacting Valley (see ' fast jets ' in ' safety matters ' for details) to deconflict. Ifyou do get up there, please take some pics of the steam trains for my little boy (what a great excuse!! ) to look at!

The countryside on the 'non tourist' side is absolutely beautiful as well.

    Have a quality flight mate.

  7. I'm being really lazy here and can't even be bothered to open up a new tab and google UK dealers! Where can you get these from? They do look pretty Gucci pieces of kit.

  8. At the risk of sounding slightly unsympathetic (honestly -I really am) The photo that was showing to the right of this thread when I read it was -

    "End of bucks

    Date: 31/03/08"

It certainly sounds like it was. Having been involved with this forum and seeing the professionalism of those involved in running it, I'm sure it wouldn't be a PMC instructor. However, what goes around...And it seems the PPG world is very small.

All the best with getting another instructor,

    Tj
