Guest
All, Here are some things that most people don't know a mobile phone can do. 1) EMERGENCY The GLOBAL emergency number from a mobile phone is 112. If you find yourself out of the coverage area of your mobile; network and there is an emergency, dial 112 and the mobile will search ANY existing network to establish the emergency number for you. 112 can be called even with the keypad locked. 2) HAVE YOU LOCKED YOUR KEYS IN THE BOOT OF YOUR CAR? Does your car have remote keyless entry? This may come in handy one day. If you lock your keys in your car and the spare is at home (anywhere in the world), call someone at your home with your mobile phone and ask them to use the spare key fob and press the unlock button. do this when you are stood close to the car. 'My wife tried this yesterday and it worked!' 3) HIDDEN BATTERY POWER Imagine your mobile battery is very low. To activate press the keys *3370# You mobile phone will restart with the reserve hidden power and your battery will show a 50% increase in charge. the reserve will get charged when you charge your phone as normal. rocco
Further to the above, don't use 999 on a mobile but use 112. This is because 999 calls don't go through to the emergency services but to the mobile companies screening facility. This is due to the number of false calls. So for fastest response dial 112. Rocco. martinbg
The emergency services can use the 999 or 112 call you make to pinpoint you. If you are unsure of your position use 112 as it is way more accurate. I suspect they use multiple base stations from different networks to triangulate your position.
