dantheman
Guys, just had this email from Simon Keeling (he produces free weekly "weekend weather forecasts") and his course may interest some...and if you just want a free report then mail aviationweather-subscribe@weatherweb.net Hi, If you want to know more about flying weather, now is your chance to brush up on those all important skills (and learn some new ones) at the Aviation Weather School. The next School, just for pilots, takes place on Saturday 19th January 2008 between 0930 and 1600hrs and there are still a few places available. The School is tutored by myself (Simon Keeling), and is very friendly and informal. Whatever your flying experience, and whatever you fly, this course lays down the basic knowledge you need to make better informed weather decisions. How many times have you asked why a TAF or 214/215 not correct? Well now you can find out why, and improve your own forecasting skills too! This day course covers topics such as: Atmospheric circulation Frontal systems – why they form and how to predict their movement High and low pressure systems Forecasting from the clouds Using weather charts Predicting flying weather hazards The course costs £129 (inc. VAT) and that includes a buffet lunch, and other refreshments throughout the day. The School is held in Wombourne, South Staffordshire, about 20-minutes from the M5/M40 or M6. (2hrs from London, 2.5hrs from Southampton, 2hrs from Bristol and about 1.5hrs from Manchester). Wolverhampton Airport (EGBO) is 3 miles away.
