Richard1910
The sheath on one of my lines has broke, the line got caught on the prop, it hasn't stretched and the line itself inside is fine and intact, would you change it or not? I can't remember which line it is.
dantheman
No brainer - change it, takes a few seconds, costs a few pounds, or decide later when it breaks under strain when you hit turbulence and the loose end wraps round your prop collapsing your wing sending you into a death spiral. The core may look ok but the tiny nick may have slipped up in the sheath
fanman
Although replacing the line is never going to be a wrong answer, it is quite possible to repair the line as long as you can satisfy yourself there is no damage to the inner core. I bought a wing second hand for a friend last year which showed 2 areas of sheathing damage due to prop contact. The kevlar inner was fine so we restretched the sheath and bonded it by use of a flame from a cigarette lighter. It is down to your own judgement at the end of the day.
