skyelander
Now that Autumn is here and we're wearing gloves when flying, my wife finds that she loses grip on the throttle lever of our Bailey Quattro. . Any suggestions for modifying the throttle unit to solve the problem.? She has small hands and short fingers anyway so its a problem in Summer as well but less so. woody
fit a cruise control? cover the throttle lever in rubber tubing / heatshrink to make it grippy? make the throttle lever close to your wifes hand as she has small fingers? Just a few ideas. A picture of the throttle would help. Woody.
Phil_P
On my Bailey, I have slipped a largish rubber 'o' ring around the main grip. This can then be pulled over the throttle lever to use as a cruise control. Due to the shape of the lever, by moving the 'o' ring towards the base you can decrease the revs, and moving it towards the tip of the lever will increase the revs. Quite fine adjustment can be obtained by rolling the ring up and down the grip with your thumb. Just my solution, KISS. Phil
cageuk
A velcro strap can form a rudimentary but effective cruise control. Ensure that whatever you use can be quickly 'deactivated' in an urgency situation though. Cheers Mark
Phil_P
Well you should always have access to the kill switch anyway, so as long as you are still able to open the throttle, you should be OK.
