Guest
MORE DETILED INFO AND PICTURES SOON!!! I need to confirm the brand and age first BUT. During a pre flight / ground handle check today, one of my students found that a Karabiner on one of our ground handling training harnesses had a fault. The pin that the main gate pivots on to open and close, was almost ll the way out. If the Karabiners were used for flight and the pin came out the gate would have simply fell away leaving it open. As I say more detaled information in the next 24 hours. SW
cageuk
Nicely spotted Simon. Just goes to show how important preflights are! I wonder how long they have been like that and wether they have been flown like that previous to being found! Some Australpin crabs have previously had a bit of a spotted history with metal fatigue (NOT saying that these are the same) so it shows that this crucial bit of kit should always be part of your preflight procedure. Cheers for letting us know!
