Replacing a damaged line

Hi

I have an old wing and I damaged a line. I wanted to replace it, but some dealer told me that I should replace all the set (for example all the 'A' lines) .

1. Is it true or I can change only the damaged one?

2. If not, what length should I order if the lines are not in their original length? should i measure the actual current length and order accordingly? or should i order as the original length?

I have replaced a few lines lately on 2 different wings, only ever replaced the damaged lines & no issues at all, just check the new line is within a few mm of the opposite number as occasionally the manufacturers stuff up the line lengths
