  1. Xc weather showing around 8mph at the moment and scheduled to get weaker with a switch to the south - looks like it will be flyable this afternoon / evening at least on paper...will keep a lookout and give you a call if it's looking good? Thanks nick
  2. Weather's looking good for Sunday - Is anyone planning to fly around East Sussex / Brighton? If so I would like to tag along and try out my new motor..! Nick 07735 629003
  3. Hi, Whats the latest with flying at telscombe? I heard the residents are not happy. I have a new motor and will have some days free soon, where is acceptable to fly these days in and around brighton? Thanks, Nick
  4. Dopes anyone know where I can get one of these - on a retractable lanyard? - too lazy to make one myself again (lost it)?
  5. I'm looking at a second hand Sportix Simo to buy but have a few of questions on it - if there are any obliging owners out there.... Firstly the bolts connecting the arms look small (smaller than my old PAP) and there is some lateral movement there - It looks like two bolts are needed one through the two metal plates and one through the plastic plate - Is this normal? Secondly, the harness is connected to the frame at the back through two straps and buckles. If the arms do fail then presumably these take over - but they give the impression that you would be hanging much lower and possibly unable to control the glider. The Sportix arms also move to a high position - Does this happen in flight or are they balanced against the pilots weight? There is no speed bar pulleys for If I wanted to fit a speed bar - is this common? If so can you retrofit pulleys? Lastly, this model has no electric start - It seems easy to start on the ground with the motor on your back (due to the high energy ignition system) but how easy is it to start in the air and would it be easier fitting a bungee rope on the starter handle? It looks like a great machine but I just need a bit of reassurance on these points - thanks in advance....
  6. Pascal Cambell Jones was selling one at the nats last week - dont know if its still for sale?...
  7. So what did you buy? I am torn between a new PAP PA125 or FB Sportix Simo - can anyone else also add their opinions?
  8. Adam Fish is based in Nottingham I believe... http://www.flyingfishparamotor.com/
  9. Henry - I paste an earlier post...I would be willing to sell for the right price. mail me at fordnmt@hotmail.com if you want more details.... I chose (and am still flying) a PAP Ros 125R with the smaller 115cm propellor and cage. It turned out to be a great decision because I haven't broken a prop yet after 30 hours of flying whereas I'm sure I would have done had I been flying a bigger frame due to 'lazy' take offs and getting in the seat too early. Plus with the ROS motor its enough power to easily get my 108kg arse off the ground even flying a reflex. Only downside is that they are a bit thirsty with a range of just over 2 hrs on a reflex, but you're not looking for competition winning efficiency for your first motor surely? Nick
  10. Hi Gary - why are you replacing it after only two years?

  12. White air sounds like a huge extreme sports festival happening in Brighton 18 - 20th Sept. http://www.whiteair.co.uk/ The organiser nigel is asking whether we can include paramotoring for the festival in terms of flying and talks. Im happy to get involved on the day but I cant commit to organising it due to work commitments - im aware of all the red tape that a flying display involves..... Would anyone like to take this on? It clashes with St Hilaire unfortunately but it sounds like a fun event.... To quote nigel..'It would need some planning as on Friday we have the Red Arrows, and there will be Chinook helicopters busing around with the Marines. Talks and sessions are always good as the public interactive side and they can learn about what the sport involves. (8000 people have tried sports/introductory lessons at WA so far)' Let me know and I can give you the contact details... Nick Ford fordnmt@hotmail.com
