  1. thanks for reply i have taken your phone number and will contact you,

i saw seymore flying newhaven cliffs with his paramotor at mid day, it didnot look very nice, wind 20mph ,gusty and dark rain cloud, i would not have flow in that, anyhow i spoke with him later and he said it was okay, personally i dont think you miss much, robin

  2. i mounted my brand new 180cc redhead engine and have been tuning my carb, i didnt want this engine to meet the same fate as my last, i have fitted a temperture gauge and have tuned by the book, although there is no way to hold full throttle and adjust high speed needle without possibly losing an arm, i just made settings a shade rich on both screws to be on the safe side,

so the settings are 3/4 low and 1 high, CHT at idle 150cc, does this sound about right?

i was surprised i used 3 litres of fuel in what seemed like a short time has anyone else tuned a walbro

  3. meet seymore down at newhaven he was free flying cliffs and earlier paramotoring cliff face, i have personally have new motor new ready to fly and am based at newhaven, i looking for some new sites and people to fly with, robin

  4. I was thinking of buying the redhead 180cc paramotor known as a paratoy or G6, i was wondering if anyone who owns one of these engines and has amassed any air time either on paramotor or trike could give me some feedback on reliablity of engine and any other problems that may have occured, I would apreciate any comments from redhead owners, thanks robin

  5. hi rob...

theres no doubt that the t shirts are right money...

but can i make a suggestion...and this of course is a personal opinion...

i think a t shirt design for this sport but of a contemporary nature would be great...something that you dont just wear whilst flying...but that you can wear when you go out on a weekend..but dont wanna look like a nerd.

im no designer...but i am a buyer...and would love to see some good modern designs..and would definatly pay for them

the wing and chair t shirts are getting there...but for me, the actual paramotor and wing needs ""revision""

personally id like to see a shirt entitled "wing of fury" and it would have a skulled skeleton flying a supercharged motor with a wing looking like it was rising from hell!..

hey...i got toooooo vivid an imagination but zero design skill!

come on graphic designers.....someone make the next "paul smith" of paramotor apparel!!

thanks for comment i too, like the idea of skulls, supercharged paramotors, rising from the depths of hell, I will try to come up with some thing. The weather looks crap this weekend and no flying so it does look like i am going to be spending the holiday working on my computer, just hope this idea of t shirt works, thanks robin

  6. Now that IS amazing!!!

    Well done!

Most free flyer's in the UK struggle to get 6 hours a year ! LOL

    SW :D

last year i managed to log over hundred hours and then got bored filling in log that was free flying, paramotoring around 10 hours finding it hard to find sites

  7. i see from this site there was a flight to boo peep, on the 5th of March, I think this upset a few people, remember the southern hanggliding club pay to fly this site and was not amused.

In my opinion to continue to enjoy the freedom of paramotoring we all need to be aware not to fly on or near local paragliding sites, near animals, people or houses all these places encourage people to contact there local authorities and will result in new legislation

  8. http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b0 ... 4_02_2010/

I watched countryfile on BBC 1 sunday 14th feb and there was a feature on the flying farmer, I noticed before take off the presenter stood next too paramotor, put her hands over her ears while the farm full revved the machine, i thought well that cannot be safe. I would have thought the BBC would have had professional advice, so not to put presenter in danger

  9. a complete days flying was had, as sea breeze never materialized, ending in a xc from telscombe to beachy head and return, good day had by all with only two casualtys. one broken paramotor and one broken car, Cheers Robin

  10. Thanks there are some good points have been raised, I will ask apco for more info on there descent ranges although I can see them being reluctant to commit themselves due too the danger of litigation, but I will give it shot. Now I think about it, a reserve gives the peace of mind to enjoy your flight knowing you have a second chance if you have a mayor equipment failure, so flying with a underated reserve is'nt going to exactly put my mind at ease, so I think I better start saving my pennies. I will let you know what apco say about what they 75kg to120kg @ 5.4m/s range whether its based on the mid weight or upper weight limit

  11. ok, so we know a mayday 18 is certified to bring a 120 kg weight down at no faster than 5.4 m/s, but what about a 131kg weight? my mate says it will be fine if I had to throw my chute while being 11kg over weight!. has anyone seen any data on reserve desent rates under different loads, I just want to use my mayday 18 for paramotoring and don't want to spend another £375 on top of all the thousands I've aready spent
