  1. Started my paramotor this week( Fly Evo). Warmed it up and gently put on the power then left it to tick over but noticed the revs would slightly climb just to the point where the prop just wanted to make a slow revolution (centrifugal clutch). Backed of the idle screw and revs dropped but there was still a slight rise in revs 20 secs or so later. Renewed the diapragms last year and was fine. Any ideas please. Thanks. Nick. carb is WB32

  2. Time for a nice flight i thought so off up the field got gear out ,wind sock up. Sorted. Paramotor assembled pre flight check and fire her up. Nicely ticking over for 5 mins while i got sorted so i thought i would give her some gas. Firm grip on the chassis, leg out for extra support steadly gave it some throttle. Nice! Good amount of thrust look down at tacho, 8800 rpm . Just hold it there for 30 seconds as usuall then oh dear ,some vibration . Throttle off i thought ,then huge mechanical clatter. Bollocks. Thought id siezed it but when i turned the prop there was a graunching mechanical sound so i removed the clutch and the' basket' what the friction material runs against had totally given way. My engine is a vitorazzi fly evo 100 and has been good as gold up till then. Lucky i wasnt attempting take off or just taken off when it went. Nick

  3. Managed two flights this weekend on friday and saturday. one solo and one with my mate. About 7mph ESE so easy take off. Proper bumpy up there but comfotable enough not to be scary. A 45 min flight with two ballooons in the distance that had taken off from Kelvedon. Flew across to Maldon and then round Heybridge near my house at 2400ft then back along the River Blackwater where my take off field is. Great to be up after windy weather we have had on previous weekends but my flying maybe stopped short as the farmer is ploughing up the stubble now including my site. Oh well, spotted a huge grass field nearby while i was up so now maybe time to ask for some pemission.

  5. Dont want to sound a dummy here but i bought a second hand Airfer Aerox fly evo 100 last year. Had about half a dozen flights all good. Giving it a good check over and i noticed that the right hand active arm (if im sitting in it) extends upwards 2inches or so than the other. Is this meant to be? This is my first low hang point machine. Thanks guys. Nick

  6. Hello Dave. Im also an Essex dweller . Me and my mate fly reguarly and would be very interested. Ive found it very hard to get a 'grass' site . i have an airstrip but is very dependent on wind direction so most of my flying has been from short stubble fields which are huge but more than adequate and right next to the blackwater estuary which makes for extremely scienic flying.. If you could let me know if all goes well with your site i would love to come along. Nick

  7. Been out tonight also. What a fantasic evening. Got up first time from a newly aquired HUGE short stubble field with a south facing slope over the river blackwater in Goldhanger . Balloons in distance to admire during my flight and an awesome sunset. Life is good.

  8. Still havent decided yet what to buy. Had some good impartial advice , but still going to rush as i have a motor at the moment (F3). A lot of people favouring the pap. Also got some info about the new paramotor with the G6 engine. I was told the miniplane was very good but not for power launches as the frame can flex back against the prop. Is this true? Enqired about the 100cc vito engine in the pap . Does anyone know someone whos got one , and if they have, what do they think of it.?

  9. Hello farmer Dave . The reason i put frame/prop in brackets is because yes, in my early experience i have trashed both and isnt something that i would expect to 'wear' any differently on two different machines but saying that i have tig welded a coulple of ally cages where the welds have given way probably through vibration.

  10. Ive been saving my pennies for a while and have decided to splash out on a new or good used machine. Ive seen most in action and flown a few also. Decision is what one though? Was at the nats and hadnt considered one before but was well impressed with the miniplane . A simple no nonsense design but effective and hugely popular. Always lusted after a pap but im torn now. Im a shortarse at 5.6 (12 stone)and although i have flown a 1400 diameter machine, feel better with a 1250 or there abouts. Was going for a pap ros 125 or 100 vitto which should still give me plenty of grunt with the smaller prop. Reckon about 4k ish should do the deal new but should i wait for a good second hander? Your thoughts on this please and any other recomendations. Nick
