  1. hi,

    im a builder / developer...

    unfortunatly i havent used sip's....and cannot fully comment.....

    but would you really save that much on space by using this method?...a traditional brick / cavity / block construction would only be 280mm wide if the correct cavity insulation was used

    granted you would potentially save some time on erection, but unless time is very critical to you, i would say the increased cost of using the system would not be worth it.

    have you looked at timber frame?...again not much cavity width saving, but quick to erect and well insulated.

    i would invest wisely in the services of a thorough geotechnical consultant ( with trial / boreholes ) to ascertain the most cost effective foundation solution....and use your saved money on the build.

    i can put you in touch with one if you require.....and if necessary i have a friend that is a drilling and grouting specialist that travels nationwide and is very reasonable.

    sounds like you grouted a seam or a shaft on your last job!....i had a job where we were grouting for 12 weeks solid.....thousands of tonnes of PFA went in.....ouch!

    good luck!

  2. Assume:

    a in {1..9}

    b in {0..9}

    x = 10a + b

    Solve:

    x - a - b = y

    (10a + b) - a - b = y

    Therefore

    9a = y

    It follows that y is always a multiple of 9.

    If you put the same value in all squares represented by a multiple of 9 (i.e. 9, 18, 27 ... 81) and randomize all other values you're guaranteed to always be correct.

    ... couldn't help myself.

    jesus dean.....have you entered the krypton factor this year!! lol

  5. having did a few lesons with paul allmark at parapete i can vouch for pauls 100% professional tuition, an absolutely sound bloke and very patient too.

    i didnt complete my tuition with paul purely on the basis of the time of year i was learning the weather conditions in the peaks meant i had a lot of wasted tips.

    i went over to beyond extreme, which was fantastic with the legendary mark dan...a 5* chauffer driven service!

    good luck on your choice.

  6. I thought I had this sussed I ordered one of the valves that was recomended and it des not work exactly as expected.

    The vent is indeed a one way valve. i.e if you suck through it,it allows air in and if you try to blow through it the valve closes and stops any air getting out.

    When the engine is running all is ok.

    But the problem is that although it stops air going back it does not stop fuel going back. So if you lay the motor down in the car it leaks fuel everywhere.

    Any other suggestions?

    What I really want is a valve that allows air in but not let fuel out.

    Argggghhhh.

    im probably stating the obvious here.....but why not carry 2 caps....a solid one for transport, and the vented one for flight....its not exactly a chore to change caps...as long as you include it in your pre-flight checklist.

    :D

  7. well...im 18st....and love my food far too much to diet..

    i was when i started training, and i am still am now...
