  1. Hi Guys & Girls...

    New machine arriving shortly...

Need to fit 1 or 2 strobes as i fly with the RAF ever present. I previously fitted an Avionics Strobe ... could nt fault the brightness , but the one screw fitting was rubbish . If you tighten too much , which you need to , it cracks the casing...then it gets messy when the Gripfill comes out ! The light is a good product , just too heavy and cumbersome for one screw to hold .

Anyway , has anyone tried LED lights ? Im getting a Polini Thor with no battery . I dont want them for show , they ve got to be good .

Macey told me some were fitted to his mates machine , but dont know the make ?

I fitted the Avionics to the top of the cage , so that it could be seen 360degrees , but sometimes it got caught in the lines . Would really like something smaller , more compact .

    Any ideas? Cheers :)

    Shaggy....

They were the micro avionics twin head teardrop strobes, he mounted to top of frame and routed cabling within the tubing and fitted the control unit in his harness pocket... Proper aircraft strobe so no worries about suitability, just whether they work for you in your particular cage.

    Good luck!

  2. I designed and manufactured the Parajet qr prop, I then passed all rights over to Parajet.

They will be manufacturing it I can assure you, as the previous post says they are very busy at the moment on fulfilling customer orders.

    As for the polini......

I'm gonna have a chat with Parajet, if they are comfortable with it I will release a polini version...as I want one for mine!

  3. Anybody got one? What do you think of it?

I got me one.... Thor 200....

When I've flown it a few more times il write proper review....

Till then.... Power is a word I'd use... Not lightly as I already have a cyclone 294.... For sale soon!

  4. Thanks for the opinion fellas,

Tbh I have a metamorphosi conair big dobber, but it's just so bulky and heavy that Ive never actually took it up !

I fancied a smaller and lighter gin reserve but I guess based on the opinions I may just get it repacked! It may even have some of the kids toys in there I've never opened it! Lol

Thanks for the offer of the jet powered reserve jock but il pass on that! Lol

  5. Sounds like you need my quick release prop device...

Word on the street I that Parajet will be releasing it soon....

Also helps out with the spacer issue that came up in Thë service bulletin from polini... Keep ur eyes peeled on parajets site!

Sounds like I might - Funnily enough I was asking about them that yesterday. Looking forward to seeing it - I had assumed it was for the Parajet engines not the Polini.

What's this about the spacer issue? :?

I read on here about a service upgrade from polini, and remember a part of the kit was a prop spacer to move the prop away from the drive, I think it was for heat dissipation. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong..

Yes the qr prop mount is made by Parajet now, but as they now install polini and other engines in their machines I am presuming that they will do a qr for all engines...

  7. I'm pleased to say that After talks with Parajet, the new retro fit quick release prop will soon be manufactured and sold by Parajet

As far as I'm aware with a couple of tweaks by Parajet, there will be versions available to fit most engines!

Il repost once I know it's available to buy

    You will love it!

I think you should make some prop covers and show Parajet, maybe then i will be able to buy some.

Oh and cage bag/covers while your at it.

Fair play for your hard work, i have a van and my Macro goes in set up, otherwise i'd of been 1st on the list :D

Lol, funny you should say that!

My friend made them months ago, cage covers that is, one for the top half and a separate one with 2 pockets for the lower halves, they are lovely faux leather with soft linings as we both have highly polished cages....

The only problem is that for us, they cost too much to make and then to be commercially viable,

I'm sure Parajet do one now????

Prop covers...... Probably the same.... It's unfortunate I don't have ready access to foreign manufacturing contacts as I'm sure they would cost peanuts,

It's just over here the low volume wouldn't make it worth while unless its ( as in our own case) something we really wanted and were prepared to pa

As or the price of the quick release prop, I cant say the retail price for definite but I can tell you that they are an amazing piece of engineering, and when I compare it to some of Thë mountain bike parts that I've just been robbed on ( watch this space!!) I'm sure you will agree that they are value for money.if the RRP we spoke about is kept, there will be hundreds and hundreds sold I'm sure. In fact, the RRP we spoke about was in fact more than some engineering firms quoted me just to manufacture part of it whilst i was in design stage.

Get one! You will love it!

  9. In 4 yrs of owning a Parajet I've never paid for any safety or essential upgrades...

Guess you get what you pay for in this sport!!

So where do you stand if you don't buy them and something goes pop?

In the 3+ years of sailing around with my miniplane at around 150 hours per year, I've never HAD any safety or essential upgrades. Actually I never had an engine failure in flight or on the ground so far (touch wood). I did shut the engine down a few times on take off or in flight by mistake, but restarted right away.

Credits to manufacturer and to a periodic maintainance (so easy).

Luckily this behaviour didn't get me less alert on the possibility, so I'm just waiting for the time when it will come and hopefully be ready for it.

Plus 1 to Parajet then for their responsible attitude to customer service in continually looking for ways to improve their product!

    :-)
