  1. Hi Leoibb Your 100% right, Quote(its a shame cos i think everyone ought to have there say and whether it be bad or good somethin tiny might come from it in the future) Me being a newbie, he gave me some good advise. But i lost the info he sent me it was deleted out of my personnel message saved box. I think the only thing he did was speak his mind, And give his proffesional opinion on welding. craggrat

  7. Hi would i be better with a harness with high hang points, The price is about what i want to spend. I have a wing. but just neeed the harness for practice. i did my trianing with high hang points. so i would like to stick to what i know, i am still learning and do not want to confuse things. if you know what i mean. thanks for the replies regards craggrat

  9. Hi Norman I have worked in a few prison's. using my hawks for bird control clearing pigeons and pest birds from the grounds and roof tops of the prison. I have asked this question about light aircraft helicopters etc flying over prisons. And from what i was told all prisons should be treated as a no fly zone. I was told even police helicopters should not fly directly over the prison. Cat A prisons have wires over exercise yards to stop prisoners being lifted out. And there is also the problem of *removed by admin* (weed or other substances)being dropped into the prison grounds. craggrat
  10. Hi outkast Read that report. they need a international standard of grading wings for paramotors. its very difficult for a newbie to the sport trying to find a wing. I have a good instructor who is helping me and giving me advise. but there should still be a standard. so you can say that wing is compatable with paramotor. and the pilots experiance. Thanks for the feed back craggrat
  11. Hi Just been on the Nova Wing site. http://www.nova-wings.com/russian/produ ... ofile.html They have a pilots profile. giving a idea of what the wing can be used for. Craggrat
  12. HI Is a reflex dhv 1 or 2. I agree with leoibb safer the better. There seem to be more info on paragliding wings than paramotor. Wing makers need to get a standard way of grading wings. being a newbie it would be easy to end up with the wrong wing and motor. craggrat

  14. Hi Leoibb The wing is a Firebird Grid Large Its on Ebay. Ends today. I have spoke to the guy who is selling it and he say's it has been used for paramotoring. Looks good to me. But i am not as experianced as you guy's on here. So i would like your views on it. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... escription Regards Craggrat
  15. Hi All I am looking at a buying a secondhand wing. I have asked the seller for test results, and to be honest i havent a clue what they mean. Below are the results, Are they good or bad. would you buy. Regards Craggrat at last inspection the wing had lines and braces tested, min strength for a + b's is 87kg and c = d 78kg, lines tested at 130 +. porosity top cenre 48,tip 74, bottom centre 285 with the minimum acceptable being 5. 2 small holes were sticky repired. Has flown about 6 hours since
  16. HI Being a Newbie, The most important thing to me when doing a reverse launch is starting with biulding the wall. I biuld the wall 2-3 times, and when happy that i am centre to the wing and the wall is okay, go for it. I have a fused shoulder jiont and doing a forward launch is very difficult, But i will try with the rises over my shoulder instead of my forearms, sounds good. Cannot wiat till i get my own gear. Still looking. Craggrat
  17. Hi Thanks for your views and advise, I am looking to buy a good secondhand one from the U.K. It sounds like to much hassle buying from other countries Thanks Kevin
  18. Hi Being new to Paramotoring, only had my first flight last week . But now i am looking to buy my own kit, being on a limited budget i have to look around for the best deals. I cannot affford to buy new so i am looking to buy second hand. Browsing the internet looking at differant sites to see what is on offer i came across a site in Thialand that will send a new Paramotor to the U.K. for 3400 US$ . Has anyone had any dealings with Skydragon Thialand. Are they geniune, Craggrat
  19. Thanks Ben At those price's its worth getting a second hand wing checked out, for peace of mind. cheers kevin
  20. Hi Thanks to all i spoke to on Friday for your advise on Paramotoring. I had a great day and have not stopped thinking about getting up there. I tried to get there Sunday to find some more info on learning to Paramotor but just after the Borobridge turn off on the A1 i had problems, a heater hose burst so i ended up in Rianton service's with the RAC. only to be told my head gasket had blown as well. Thats life. Thanks agian Kevin
  21. Hi Whats the cost of having a second hand wing tested, Do you get some sort of MOT certificate with it to say its safe. cheers Kevin
  22. Good read. I want to fly so my cheapest option and safest is Paramotoring. I have been looking at motors and wings. Shocked at the price of some. How can someone charge £4000.00 for a new motor when all it is, is a frame a engine and prop. And wings £2500 plus. There are a lot of people out there making a lot of profit. I can see why there could be copies of wings and motors coming into the UK. If a newbie to the sport has two wings laid out in front of him of the same design and quality identical in every way except one has a makers tag on. and the cost of one is £500 and the other £2500. which is he going to buy. I bet all the wing that are produced, are made in China or Korea, and are produced for peanuts, then the middleman, agents etc. Put on there fat wedge , but thats business kevin
  23. Yes, Definetly going Friday. look forward to meeting you guy's. Simon W .yes i did mention that i got his contact detials of this site. Can anyone suggest any other sites that have useful information on regarding Paramotor. Thanks Kevin
