No sure about the max. rpm. will check when the weather gets better (at the moment it is raining cats and dogs).
I never change my jets, flown between +35 and -15 (C) sealevel.
-
Just for reference, I fly my 200 evo (no HF-kit, sealevel) with the following settings:
- Main Jet: 146
- Idle:42
- Needle pos: 2.
I found the pwk carb very sensitive for float adjustment, however when adjusted correct it will operate super all-year around (I fly Aspen fuel).
-
maybe a bit silly answer, but are they mounted the correct way around?

Very Sad news. RIP.

Hi Gerard,
The Thor 200 has to be the single most unreliable engine that I know to exist. I would highly recommend that you fit a temperature gauge if you have not already done so as they tend also to run hot.
There are a couple of people who know loads about these engines and can most likely help.
@MOSS has a repaid centre near Lambourn. He is on holiday at the moment but fire him a message and I am sure he will reply when home.
Welcome to the Paramotor Club!!

I would have to disagree with the statement "single most unreliable engine"! Is it flawless, No, are there some specific issues (flash starter) Yes. However I fly one, and many friends do also with great performance and reliability. It comes down to, on time maintenance and some TLC.

Nice video Scott. What's the length of your line connecting the followcam to the wing?

Contact them directly and you will know for sure. http://www.vittorazi.com/en/contacts/

Stunning. More then enough reason to visit Scotland again

Skyflar is regarded as one of the best available right now. I fly using an Abrams 360, and get positieve comments from fellow pilots.

This is a video of the original engine:
Looks somewhat overengineered........;)

I started out on school equipment and halfway through bought a new wing and almost new motor (only 10 hrs).

Absolutely love my 26 Spyder, however there is one thing I would like to have incorporated. That is a scale on the trimmer tabs.
Now there are basically 3 equal (between left and right) settings, full in, full out and take-off/landing. All the intermediate positions are not marked. Looking at some youtube video's I see some other brands have a scale on the trimtabs. Anyone out there who marked there trimtabs by themselves?
-
ask someone to make a video of your take-off and analyse this afterwards. Will help tremendously in understanding.

I am using my Suunto Ambit Peak 3 for quite some time, easy to use, great battery life and good readability. When compared to secondary GPS units the Ambit is spot on.
Unfortunately the AP3 is discontinued, however can still be found online.
Second Pro is that it can also be used for navigation with scrolling displays showing exactly what you want (speed, height, trackback etc.). One thing it cannot is show your groundspeed versus direction, meaning are you flying backwards or not

Paragliding brothers I know, use this: http://gethighstayhigh.co.uk/products/. Battery life is great and readability, even in bright sunlight, is superior due to the e-inkt screen.
I have no first hand experience just from hear-say.

I realy like my TomTom Bandit action cam. Has builtin GPS so al flightdata available.

ASPEN2 is an amazing fuel for 2 strokes. It is BRILLIANT for storage as well. When I purchased some, I was told by a rep that for garden stuff, Chainsaws, and so on to ensure the carb is FULL and it will start in the spring! ( I have been using this in this method now for around 3 years in my garden stuff ) If it was not so expensive I would 100% use it in the Paramotor!! (They all do in Sweden)
I would say, buy a gallon of it, fill the carb and fuel system with ASPEN and block and little holes you don't want spiders nests in, and your good to go!
My Chainsaw started yesterday second pull for the first time in about 8 months sat in a shed.

Aspen is the way to go. I only fly using Aspen and absolutely no degradation of fuel lines etc.

Having not flown one does the tipsteer give a more dynamic turn, like the red ball tipsteer on the old Nucleon?
Looking at the line diagram it looks as if it is roughly equivalent, though pulling fewer of the outer cells
It's definitely more dynamic using tipsteer
-
I am also a happy owner of a Spyder and as far as I can tell the tipsteer must be used when fully accelarated (either speedbar or trims full out) and can be used during all other fases of flight. I stow the brakes when above 300 ft and start using the tipsteering as this requires much less effort

I am also a beginner and also flying a Spyder (26). Love the ease of inflation and handling in flight (speed, turning, tip-steer, large speedrange etc.).

Great concept, filled in the questionnaire.
