  1. Well I spoke with my buddy using the Chameleon throttle. He says it is taking some getting used to and that the spring is too strong. He's trimmed it off and feels it's still is a little too strong.

I hope he gets it right before it's the cause of another crack up. It just doesn't sound like a throttle I'm going to purchase.

  2. Just copy and paste the link to the video ?? How is it not working?

    SW :D

Sent from my iPhone using PMC Forum mobile app

I tried that but it was a list of letters a mile long. Then I tried to use it and it didn't work. What's the Vimeo button for? [vimeo][/vimeo] I'm not sure how to use that either. That's where my video is uploaded.

I tried to dumb down my pictures but that didn't work either. Help! First it was too many kb. Then the pixel count was too high.

  3. I can't foot launch so much any more so I came up with this trike. Weighs 23 lbs. It's almost all bolt together construction to make it easier to repair and build. Easy to build with woodworking tools. All parts can be bought on line and in almost every ones town. After we are finished with testing we plan to offer it as a plan or kit to assemble.

This is the first one built and so far the only changes we have made were to reduce the lengths of the parts and use smaller bolt sizes.

This trike is intended for the pilot with some experience. Its not built for the punishment a beginner might put it through. But it would be very easy to repair and not leave you on the ground too long should you have a small misshape. We think we can shave more weigh and get it down a few more pounds making it very easy for almost anyone to be able to use without changing wings and motors.

I tried to post a picture but don't have any in my file that fit the size allowance.

I tried to post a link to a video but that doesn't work either. The video can be found under my name Al B Thayer

    thanks.

  4. Hi Al,

kit = equipment, bits and pieces associated with a particular sport or hobby.

Could be fishing kit, diving kit, football kit, etc.

    Cheers,

    Alan

For us in the states. Things come in a kit or package and need to be assembled. Once assembled they are no longer referred to as a kit. But we say it came as a kit.

But we have a "shaving kit". Comprised of razor, foam, soap, shampoo, tooth brush, tooth paste and anything else you may use in the bathroom on travel while away from home.

  5. Fanny pack always had me wondering??

As for a beginner using. Personally I think having you thumb over an easily reachable cut off switch out weighs coping with a cluttered hand. So I'd learn on a standard throttle and move on to one latter. But that's just me.

    Cheers Lee.

Good advise. Thanks for responding. I haven't been on this site for a few days.

  6. I also must say. I'm learning about quite a bit here on this site and also many new or never used words here in the States. Kit?

    Al

It would tickle me to know what some of those words are :-)

I remember my wife giving me a kidney punch in San Fran, when we were stood waiting to cross the road and I said to her I was 'desperate for a fag' which in the UK is a Cigarette rather than a person.

Oh that and a few other words in the wrong place will get you in trouble. Much like snatch box and pussy. Which can all be found in a kids film.

  7. Looking for info on and experiences with the Chameleon throttle. I have a friend that is going to install one on his Air Conception. Just a few days ago he chopped his throttle cable clean off in his prop. All caught on Gopro. He had to ditch it in the river and would have died had it not been for the folks on the bank that came to his rescue.

Is it a good type of throttle?

Do they have a good track record?

Anyone have any tips for proper or improper install and use?

Are they safe? what can happen.

    Thanks Al

  8. Some risers have two hook in points, and or special torque adjuster lines such as the Dudek range of wings.

Both Low and high hang points will experience torque, it depends upon the individual set up as to how bad it is.

Try putting your reserve on the opposite side of the torque as this also helps.

If your harness has a torque strap, use it.

Thanks for your reply. My Revo2 only has one hook in point and my harness is a popular type found on other makes but it has no torque strap. Can't think of the maker.

I'm flying with a PAP and they do have offsets built in to the arms and the motor is offset too.

For all I know my right tip steer line may have been tight enough to effect the flight path.

  9. Not sure if it helps, I have a Pap top 80 with an Ozone Spark and have the same issue, I found letting out the left trim riser out 1/2" when in flight corrects the problem. NB, I replaced active arms, adjust strap on harness to counter the torque, only letting out a little riser one side worked :-) hope this helps

Wish I could fly with a top 80. Thanks for your reply. I'm going to start with checking lengths and make sure I didn't have a twist somewhere in the harness. Might have had a tip steer line tight on one side.

  10. Wing should fly straight if you have low hangpoints/ active suspension points.

Pulling continual left brake is not a good idea, as it eliminates the reflex on that side of the wing...

Seems like you have an underlying problem here that needs a 'root cause analysis', before it can be fixed.

It's probably something to do with harness straps/ and or/ torque.

Best advice would be to talk to an experienced flyer with similar set-up and compare notes.

    GD

Well I realize it shouldn't fly this way. I thought there were experienced flyers here that would have experienced this and could offer some tried and tested methods for correcting the situation. I wouldn't want to go out on a limb and start making changes without some advise.

I wasn't actually in reflex mode at the time. It was a peaceful day and I wasn't going anywhere.

Im going to start with my swing arms. They may be uneven and take it from there.
