  1. The chinese are genius at copies, i deal with manufactures that have had genuine branded articles copied and you cannot tell the difference, even down to the logo on the metal zip. We are having our branded merchandise and clothing made in china, they showed me a genuine North Face coat and a copy and i scrutinised every stitch, talk about identical!

They said they can copy anything for me and i mean anything, from a t-shirt to a laptop. It is of course illegal to buy and sell copied brands in the UK but in China it is very much overlooked, if you buy a branded article in China your 99% sure it's a copy.

As for not wanting to use a wing made in china, i would, the lines on my Skydiving canopy are made in China, my Altimeter and helmet are made in China so is the material for my jump suit, so is my Wakeboard, so are the bindings on my Snowboard, all are crucial equipment which i trust 100%

In the next 5 to 10 years it will be the turn of India and Pakistan, i have already been approached by companies in these two countries asking me to sell there products some of which are there own, others where branded copies which they would put my brand and logo on, this is not illegal if certain changes have been made, and that's what the Chinese are good at.

In a nut shell i would never buy or sell copied products it puts people out of business and it's illegal, Chinese made products are cheap because labour is cheap not because it's crap, i trust there stuff 100%, i have to, some of the safety devises i have on my equipment are made in china, a bit like my AAD(automatic opening devise) on my parachute, the disc brakes on my motorbike and the airbag in my car.

  2. Hi Simon, no that's the first one of eight websites, our wing logo will be our brand name "MayContain.com" it's an 'umbarella' website which will hold all the other MayContain sites, it's still being built but should be ready in time :?

I have sent you the logo, please let me know if the format it's in is ok.

    Cheers

    Richard

  3. On my harness i have an old speed bar fastened to my seat by two lengths of string, this means the speed bar is just dangling about 12 inches below my seat, just after take off i pull my seat forward under my bum using my foot on the old speed bar, my hands never let go of the brakes or throttle, it's 100% effective!

An instructor came up with this idea and fastened it on for me way back when i was learning because he was also struggling to get into the seat on take off.

  4. Hi Francis,

You will need to contact 'Guinness' if you want to make it official, i have their number somewhere from when i was attempting a Fire Eating world record. I'll see if i can route it out. If you want to beat his world record it has to be similar circumstances but doesn't have to be similar equipment, i think the weight being carried has to be the same though but i'm not 100% sure about that, they'd now, i'll have a look for the number tomorrow.

(what about fastening small jet thrusters to either side of your caged?)

  5. Well that's to the point! i won't be buying one of those then!!

Think i'll stick with buying a double micro avionics strobe.

Will the power from a Paramotor be enough to power a double or triple strobe? i think the micro avionics double and triple strobes are intended to be mounted on Microlights and such.

  6. 90% of the time i wear trainers, the only time i where boots is Paragliding or when the ground is a bit damp, i Skydive and we all wear light footwear for that, the only differance i can see while Paramotoring is the extra weight on my back on take off and landing where i may need a little extra ankle support. After saying that, boots are better for trogging across uneven farmers fields with all that cow shit! My main take off and landing site is cricket pitch flat so trainers are good for me.

  7. YOU CAN NOT TAKE YOUR PARAMOTOR DOWN THE ZIP SLIDE OR HAVE IT IN THE BUILDING FOR PETROL / SAFETY REASONS

Some people just don't know what fun is!

We could have had a competition to see who got down the zipslide the quickest with engine running "who's next, on full throttle this time?":lol:

  8. It's an extremely good idea and a bit more for the press to get there teeth into and if the pilot doesn't have enough air time, well, there's four months yet for them to get the practice in, and an instructor who's organising the event! What you waiting for?:lol:

  9. Tis up to you, most get a wing to match there motor and or flying kit which I find quite bizzare

Simon, don't you have matching bike and leathers :D

I did find that the white in my Arcus canopy attracted flying ants, and hundreds of 'em, they didn't bother with the blue or red bits just the white, how wierd!

  10. I wont go into too much detail about the rest of the build up for my first flight because Simon does have some unique and patented training methods which he's asked me to keep under my hat

Being ex forces he doesn't stand there with a gun and grenade shouting 'fly or die' does he? typical
