  1. Found it..

I really appreciate your response. I am a marine engineer and at this moment i am presently working offshore. Sometimes access to regular emails and phone calls is very poor offshore due to inefficiency of the immarsat service, I am located in pacific WA, and i want you to know that I am ok with the condition of the Ozone Element Medium 75-105KG and the asking price as well.I am buying the Ozone Element Medium 75-105KG as a gift for my son, I want to surprise him. I don't have access to my bank account on-line as i don't have internet banking, but i have my bank account attached to my PayPal account and this is why i insisted on paying you through PayPal, kindly get back to me with your PayPal details if you don't have PayPal account yet,it is very easy to set up at your bank and get it set up,after you have set it up i will only need the e-mail address you use for registration with PayPal so as to put the money through so i can proceed with the payment

and after the payment has been done, i have a pick up agent that will come around for verifications and to pick the Ozone Element Medium 75-105KG after i have made the payments for the Ozone Element Medium 75-105KG.So I will need you to provide me with the following information to facilitate the making of the payment.

    1.Your PayPal full name.

    2.Your PayPal Email Address.

    3..Your phone number.

The grammar looks wrong as they are just cutting and pasting the description into key sections of the mail.. could be they are using some sort of bot?

  2. I used 6 or 8mm builders ply on my Bak - Rak 16-18 quid from Wickes IIRC.

If you look at my earlier pics, the ply isn't a strain bearing component... its just a convenient base to sit the motor on and screw things to... No need to go for the posh marine ply 8)

  3. No the harnesses are not the same. Normal motors range from 19-25kg A wing is normally around 5-7k depending on the size. Wing size depends on your weight.

    T

5-7kg for the wing and about 3kg for the reserve, plus extras like helmet/radio/GPS etc..

As been said before DONT BUY ANYTHING! until you have had a chance to speak to other pilots or instructors.

    Good luck!

  4. There is a knack to putting the cage sections together. It doesn't slot together loose like a Bailey as there is some ''spring'' in the stainless steel. I locate the lowest points in first then flex the cage to locate the upper point. After the two lower sections are on the top section just drops on.

Using a hammer on it would suggest that the Ali inserts were the wrong size, but that seems unlikely :?

    Have you got any pics?

In Vince's defence, any problems (of my own doing) have been sorted out quickly at no expense to me whatsoever 8)

  5. I have heard of this problem happening in spirals with float bowl type carbs due to the bowl emptying during the spiral... No idea why it should do it with a diaphragm type, unless the weight of the fuel in the main fuel line is allowed to drain back into the tank :?: If its ok picking up from prolonged idle in straight and level then it must be fuel line/pump related :?:

Check this webby on the inner workings of the Walbro. They suggest changing the membrane annually...

Good luck and safe spirals 8)

  6. Hi Gordon

Sorry it is not clear in the photos, but my harness on the Kobra folds up flat and the arms straight down (mid/lower hang point) It is the harness side that butts up against the A frame and acts as a cushion. It prob doesnt need the strap, but my thinking is it helps with any forces pushing against the frame. I remove the cage and prop for safety and wrap the motor in a tarp if it looking like it might rain en route..

Good idea for the fuel can... Army surplus should have jerry can holders they use on land rovers etc.. If you offset the motor by a couple of slats there should be loads of room.

Dont forget to cut an access hole in the ply to get the whole assembly on and off like I did!

  7. Pics as promised

All bits from Homebase / Wickes. The white plastic blocks are those kitchen cupbords things, Bolts for the crossbars are inserted by drilling through the Easybase and the plywood to make a strong sandwich. Wingnuts hold the bars on with a strap around the upright for extra peace of mind 8)

  8. how the hell would anyone knock the kill switch in flight..?

its a full arm stretch behind yourself and up a bit, i think i would have trouble even trying to do it in flight....

The landout I witnessed, the fella had mounted his reserve off the harness on the switch side. It got close enough to push it off in flight...

So there's my next tip, Paul and Morg's.... Fit a dedicated reserve pod like you get on a Kobra for over a grand less than a V5 8)

but not under the seat, I tried it, it was horrible, so I now have the reserve in front of me :D

Thats because you have extra short legs Dave

Me, on the other hand is built like an overweight giraffe and have no problems.. The extra padding is good for taking the sting out of landing on me arse

  9. Sorry for the thread drift Simon and well done on the insurance thing btw!

If we're going to be registered by the CAA, does that mean out personal details are going to appear on G-INFO ??

    http://www.caa.co.uk/application.aspx?catid=60&pagetype=65&appid=1

What concerns me, which does not affect most of our flying colleagues. Is that any herbert can write down our reg number, look up our addresses on G-INFO and break into our garages and nick 8 grands worth of kit! I dont know of any other pursuit where this can happen, and I think our personal details should be hidden by the data protection act!

Sorry if this has already been thought of and i'm talkin out of my arse (again)

  10. +1 For a Thule easy base (as above)

Bit more £'s than the backrak but does come complete with light board and the afore mentioned upright (to strap it to). You can also get a few usefull accessories for it (like bike racks etc) when its not being used for the paramotor. I've even used mine for transporting a duff washing machine down to the local tip, so its nice and solid 8)

I'll see if I can take some pics of the QR bars I added to make a solid attachment for my motor...

  12. Hi Sticky

I think you will find that the switch is now under rather than on the side as some poeple use to complain about hitting the switch whlie in flight.

That was my idea was that

Any other product testing hints you or Paul require, just ask

  13. Errrrr....

    Engine fell out tonight.......

Please check your top mount.....

Didn't you just post that you had to repair your pull start? I would have thought that the engine mounts could have been checked at the same time?

    Only sayin', like

  14. 2 Stroke pro's

    Better power to weight

    Light

    Simple

    Cheap to manufacture

    Cheaper spares

Lots of choice from big manufacturers ie: Polini, Simo etc

    2 Stroke cons

    Harder to tune

    More complicated exhaust (tuned)

More irritating exhaust note (high pitched)

    Have to mix fuel

    Use expensive synthetic racing oil

    4 Stroke pro's

    Better low down torque

Swing bigger prop at lower revs

More agreeable exhaust note (lower pitch)

    Easy fueling (no mixing)

    Fuel efficient

    Simpler exhaust sytem

    4 Stroke cons

    Lower power to weight

Thrust figures not up to 2 strokes (yet)

    Initial cost

    Limited choice

    Harder to maintain

    More complicated

    Horses for courses really..

Look at the results of the recent UK nats 75% 2 stroke to 25% 4 stroke. And that's mostly cos it was a UK comp and we have a UK 4 stroke manufacturer. On the continent or in the US you will be lucky to see any..

  15. Unfortunately the Polini hub looks like this:-

    polinim.jpg

So the only answer is lock washers or locktight... Lockwashers will make a mess of the soft ali spacer. Do you use a carbon or wooden prop? I don't have any issues with it loosening up using a carbon prop as the hub doesn't compress as much.

  16. No worries Shawn. Its good to have an active discussion about what is a popular motor

I've heard that there's a different manifold available (but not sure where/who its from) which is neutral instead of angled upwards and is supposed to stop the stalling when you bend to pick up the risers.

I've still yet to fly mine and have set the main mixture at 1 1/2turns out until I get a chance to get it in the air. (thats with 97octane and 2%mix)

    BTW

How do you tune it? Purely on plug colour? or do you use the fuel meter rig from Polini?
