  1. Sigh! Can't believe I'm suffering the same problem again! I got through a lot of oil on my trip so I want to get the machine checked and perhaps get new rings and seals but I can't get anyone to reply to me! emailed Paul on the 8th of October, then again on the 10th. Now it's the 21st and still no reply. It's a 4 hour round trip to Bailey for me so I am reluctant to just turn up in case there's nobody there when I arrive. Advice, anyone??
  2. Thanks Simon! For those who missed the updates, Here's the whole blog: http://www.paramotorspainchallenge.blogspot.co.uk
  3. If you want to see the whole trip in one place, there is a video/photo blog at http://www.paramotorspainchallenge.blogspot.co.uk
  4. Thanks Simon! And thanks also for the donation! I'll fly down to Membury soon. It doesn't seem so far now! All the best, Dave
  5. Love the idea of a strapping in bench! Don't you just hate those squat thrusts?!

  7. Will do....as soon as I get the unit back from Spain. It is with a removals company in Malaga at the moment.
  8. You know that saying about being on the ground wishing you were in the air and vice versa? Well I had the vice versa today....mid afternoon on the Spanish plain near Segovia. Bucking bronco thermals! Flippin' scary! My fully loaded V5 weighs over 40 kg so I could have done with a bigger wing. Long takeoff runs! It's raining now and I'm stuck in a village in the middle of nowhere. Legs are killing me after one too many failed launches in ridiculously variable wind this morning. Ok. Moan over! Here's looking forward to a better day tomorrow.
  9. Here's a little conundrum..... I'm in a small field and will need a reasonable bit of wind to be able to get out, however, I'm surrounded by mountains amongst which the same wind could be a real pain in the arse! Suggestions?
  10. They sent me a vest to wear on my flight. It needed a bit of customization!
  11. Hoorah! Wheels and handles fitted. Ready for those long walks from landing to petrol-station / bed / food! Getting excited now. I will be on the overnight ferry to Santander on Tuesday. Thanks to everyone who has sponsored me. If you haven't already, please do! Here's the link. Just a couple of quid would help towards my (admittedly ambitious) target of £5,000 for Save the Children. https://www.justgiving.com/vueloparalosninos
  12. I would have done the service myself but it is in for a new exhaust (previous one developed a heat crack) and an upgrade to new carb. Update: received a reply. It appears that a new batch of carbs are due for delivery by the end of the week. It's going to be a bit tight getting my unit back in time for my charity flight. I still have to add some trolley wheels for the walk from each landing to the nearest bed for the night.
  13. I've been trying to contact Bailey Aviation for over a week without success. Problem is that my V5 is in for a service prior to my charity flight across Spain which starts a week on Monday with a pre booked ferry trip to Santander. Needless to say, I am getting very concerned about getting my motor back in time! Does anyone have a way to contact Paul Bailey other than email or through the number on the Bailey web site? Cheers, Dave
