  1. Shouldn't you have the cage and prop on too?

It gives a more accurate angle as the weight is more correct.

Personally, I have given up on hang tests as my Zenith hangs completely different in flight compared to static hanging. I have no idea why though!

  2. Yip, I know, probably should have done it by now but never really needed the extra speed. After getting my first taste of XCODE at the weekend, I'd like to have the ability to get a bit more.

So, I have a pulley at the front (near thigh) and at the back (near my bum). As my risers sit nearly straight up from the front pulleys, do I need to go via the back ones or are they for high hang points?

Any hints on setting up much appreciated. Ta

  3. Mine works great but the battery life is much poorer that the GP2.

I bought a battery back for mine.

Also, if you want hassle free excellent footage, make sure Protune is OFF.

With it on it is like taking photos in RAW, you need to do a tonne of work afterwards to improve it.

  4. Interesting, but I believe 999 does all the same stuff.

The reason for 112's existence is so that all EU member states

    have a universal emergency number.

Plenty info on the web about this. Either number works in these ways described in the video but if you travel to Europe much I guess it is worth sticking with 112 as a matter of course so it is instinct.

I hope none of us have to use either number!

  5. I cant think of any reason to land with my engine on. It just asks for trouble!

Once set up for the landing I kill my engine at about 100ft usually.

I read somewhere above that someone kills the engine as the flare but when I kill my engine the wing has a slight surge forward which at 100ft is fine but in the flare would use up valuable energy which can otherwise be used to soften my landing.

I've learned this lesson before on a badly set up landing where I cut too late and landed fast on my arse!

Each to their own I suppose, but I have never broken anything whilst landing.

    Taking off however ........

  6. I started by asking the odd farmer who was in their field.

I have never been asked about insurance. I always show them what I do by showing a video on my phone or show them the motor if it is in the car.

I always offer aerial photos and drop off some wine at Christmas.

Just get out there an ask!

Ps try to stick to a "take off and piss off" plan, cut out annoyance for the farmer and his neighbours.

Don't go near anywhere with horses, no end of hassle!
