Hi Thijs
I have flown both non reflex (Eagle Genie 80 hours approx) and reflex (Reaction 120 hours approx)
The Genie was a good wing that needed hands on flying (just in case) had some collapses and did siv goes in to collapses and comes out with no great worries ( except when you spin it and tumble 3000 feet, but thats another story)
Reaction I always fly hands off except for take off and landing.
I have flown in VERY turbulent conditions (my fault)with wing tips folding but just let the reflex do its job when it got really rough I went to full speed bar and that seamed to make it more stable.
I will allways fly under power with the trims out and hands off.

but then thats just me.

Hi Terry
Some say that you should use it in a couple of days some a couple of weeks.
I have used fuel that has been in the can for about 3-4 months with no problems ,except for maybe a slight drop in power but hardly noticable

Hi Simon
Just to say that I'm more than happy with the charities you have suggested.
To all others This trip will only be possible with the ground crew,
If you are considering doing this then please do
as this is more important than the flying.
You can drive the route without the pilots BUT
the pilots CANNOT fly the route without you.

Hi Simon is there anyway we can link them so when you log on to your site we can access the others??

Who is the weather guru that can find out when would be the best time of year to do this ie wind direction / strength and other conditions?
4 motors the same would be ideal but I cant afford to buy another yet
4 wings the same lent for the trip Dudek synthes would be nice. Good promotional advertising for them?
Camping would be better as you would have no wasted time traveling to and from landing /takeoff field(assuming we could camp in the field)pros and cons please.
Additional routes would need to be planned in advance to allow for flying cross wind if the needs arise.
All pilots should be comfortable taking off and landing in up to 15 mph winds also in reasonable bumpy conditions(but not dangerous conditions)
Comments please
ps Im in YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA ROCK AN ROLL BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Italian regulations
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Synthesis of the actual regulations
Reading the various laws it isn't easy to understand exactly wath or who can fly. This is the reason why I wrote the following summary, leaving out the more elementary rules (e.g. ... it is forbidden to drop objects or liquids during flight!) and many other specific indications.
Obligations of crash helmet. During flight on all microlights it is compulsory to wear a protective helmet, rigid kind suitable for this kind of activity.
Characteristics of aircrafts. Maximum weight at take-off included seat belts, parachute, instruments:
single-seater with engine : Kg. 300 (350 for amphibians and water planes), stalling speed must not exceed 65 Km/p.h.
two-seater with engine Kg. 450 (500 for amphibians and water planes), stalling speed must not exceed 65 Km/p.h.
Two-seater. Use of two-seater vehicles is allowed for: instructors, pilots with a valid private license, pilots with at least 30 hours of flying experience as controller who have passed the necessary exam.
Use of aircraft for take off and landing. Is it possible to take off and land on any suitable area as long as you have the permission of the owner or responsible of such area. For any operation near civil airports a special authorization is necessary.
Flight operation limits. It is possible to fly all over national territory. It is prohibited to take sensors or any kind of cameras and telecameras aboard.
Identification of aircraft. All aircraft must have a metal plate with the identification number issued by the AeCI (Aero Club Italia). The same number must be fixed onto the underneath of the wing with letters that measure a minimum of 30x15 cm, in contrasting colour.
All identification documents must be kept on board. Any structural or colour modifications and changes of ownership must be comunicated to AeCI.
Circulation specifications. It is possible fly from dawn till sunset at a maximum height of 500 ft (150 meters); on Saturday and holidays at a maximum height of 1000 ft (300 meters) ; at a distance of 5 Km from airports not located within ATZ . Maximum height is considered that measured with respect to the highest point within a radius of 3 Km.
Ability certificate. In order to fly it is necessary to have such a certificate issued after a course with examination taken in a certified flying school togheter with specific medical examination.
Insurance. All aircraft must be covered by an insurance policy with a limit not less than 1 milliard of lira for accident, 1 milliard for person, 1 milliard for animals or objects.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------[/quote
Do we have to have the number on motor and wing?
Where do we get number?
What documents?
Should this read MINIMUM hight and not maximum
Do you need a qualification and medical?
Simon how much for both weeks?

Last I heard about 4 months ago was that Jabba may not put it in to full production ????
Pete

It must be foot launched
ie wheels can be used to support weight but,
without using your legs to support the rest you can not take off.
yes it is completely legal and above board to land on wheels only.

It was about 3 and a half years ago that I went to the doctor as I would wake up in the mornings feeling more tierd than when I went to bed.
The doctor asked me what I did and how I relaxed so I told him, work 7 days per week for about 14 hours each day and that was about it.
Anyway after a good chat he said that I had OCD (obcesive compulsive disorder) WHAT but aint that where people keep washing thair hands all the time, well yes he said but in your case you are working all the time and even when you go to sleep your mind keeps thinking of the things you have to do tommorrow (yes correct give the man a carrot).
The result of this was that I had to find some me time so as I looked in to hang gliders many years ago I started to look at it again but the down side was traveling 45 miles to the nearest hill. OY NO.
PARAMOTORING rears its head, fits in the van, easy and quick to set up and pack away, no need to travel far, so ep off the hill then on to the motor,
Thats about it realy now I prefer to fly with others and distance does not come in to the eqation so thats why I come down to simons to fly with others and for the social side as I get nearly as much out of meeting up and chatting as I do out of flying,
ps still working to much but you gota pay the bills.
