  1. Congested built up area? Did you watch the video? Fields and water everywhere. Yes I was closer than the rules and regs say to an empty church with some already dead people in the field next to it. I bet you go to spec-savers don't you?. As for the sheep, when I landed I went back and spoke to everyone of them and they all said no worries mate, we thought you were going to land so we huddled together out of your way.

  2. The other key thing to making ground handling look easy is to control it by moving around yourself rather than using the brakes. Every brake input you apply is trying to stop the wing from flying. Repositioning yourself constantly underneath it keeps the wing in its designed shape that wants to fly rather than fall back down to earth. Understanding this is the key to successful launching too. The wing is something that you work with and guide along to achieve your desired result.

I think, for what its worth, that this is one of the best bits of advice for anyone learning to control a wing. Spot on Fanman.

For me its all a sort of fluid movement of small inputs from the tips of your toes to the end of your nose! I try to feel a little pressure from everywhere, the brakes, the harness, the risers, your legs, your arms, shoulders, all over lol and yes lots of practise. Lots lots lots. Its worth getting a freeflying harness for ground handling and a nice clean mown field. The local cricket pitch or bowls club are nice, or one of the greens at a posh golf course are always smooth ;)

  3. I always fly with one. For the same reasons as everyone else and some more I cant think of. Why wouldn't you want to give yourself another safety option? Hopefully its the biggest waste of money ever, as I never want to be in a situation where i need it, but if I am...

I have seen quite a few deployed in anger in the alps when free-flying and they definitely save lives.

I just think its nice to know I have another option to come down a bit slower if it does somehow go wrong up there.

  4. Thermals. I 'grew up' paragliding and now do both. This is half the fun of paramotoring for me; being able to switch the motor off and having a play in the lift, then switching it back on when I cock it up.... It can get rough though if breezy, when the prevailing wind destroys the natural thermic lift. Give it a go next time, you'll love it (saves fuel also...).

Hi All. I've been trying to explain to Matt that once he gets bumped around and hurtled upwards like a rocket, pinned into his harness, he might just learn to love it!

Matt, We need a weekend away to Annecy or Chamonix to introduce you to some thermals. Just put your trimmers out....you'll be fine lol

  5. Luke, here is an invite for you to come and fly with us and if you don't mind pointing out where we are going wrong it would be much appreciated. You sound like you know everything and I don't so please let me have the pleasure and a better insight as to how to be the best paramotor pilot anyone has ever seen.

  6. Congrats Chris!. I hope its the first of many for you ...less the kill switch and other problems of course! Where did you go from?

I'm going to try and get out this weekend with Matt somewhere if the weather is ok. How about you and Dave, flying this weekend?

  7. i was coming in to land then changed my mind......ten times....i'm very indecisive lol!

Matts turned so quick as you can see by the vid it just caught me out lmao Honest Ma Lud! its a toss up between a fusion and the viper2. good excuse to try both really.

  9. im watching.......Andy from skydragons knows i have an interest in flogging my nearly ros and getting the new one. I was up there a couple of weeks ago but it was fitted with a large harness!!! i need a medium so will have to wait. Let us know how it flies asap gary pls.

  10. Well neil I think it's just bloody selfish of you knowing that when you get your gear it would rain and no-one else could fly this bank holiday, you could of left it all in your garage and we could of all flown! Thanks neil! Lol

bit of ground handling later if you fancy it, if this rain stops.
