Best mic to hook up to GoPro

I’m wanting to record my voice clearly when flying and have it direct to the GoPro with the media mod (the box add on) 

 

I’ve tried many mics and nothing works 

has anyone had some experience here they can shed some light to what works and where to get it and how to modify/wire it in
