  1. thanks guys...i called parajet and they said its prob a flooded engine etc.. and told me to remove the head gasket and exhaust and empty the fuel out...the carbs were fine from the airbox side but the fuel that came out was not much.needless to say the engine was meant to have done only 15 hrs from new but the pistons and other parts inside were all burnt so am now guessing a tad rich mix.

upshot is after cleaning the heads and chamber etc its firing nicely but tickovers slightly fast now.. prob need to put the blades on and check....

ho hum n all that... :P

  2. ok cap in hand and suck eggs time but have gone a bit blank here..

my parajet macro was ok last november time..ish and started up ok (had some fun running around the field with it just before the light went) but for some reason it wont start now and fire up.no settings have been changed and although the batts flat it has been replaced and a new plug put in,and fresh fuel etc

now the interesting thing is that it pees out fuel from the exhaust and sometimes bubbles by the carb which to me may indicate a gasket gone.

the plugs are ok and fuel seems to go around but drips from the exhaust..

am i overlooking something completely simple here..

  3. ooo cracking photos..... makes me remember what i am missing out on as haven't done anything in a year :-(.. still looking for kit though.... may catch up with you guys once sorted as simon is sooooo far away hehe

  4. Costing of a wing is not the main concern of what one to buy it's the safety of it and reliability.Cars can fail even though they have gone through check after check pass and sit waiting for us to buy it. Simply put i'd get a cheaper wing if it was certified by the guys that check all these high priced wings and cut out the 3 or 4 possible middle-men that bump up the price.I'd still be concerned for my safety while in the air but if a replica was made to the same standards all other wings were made and had passed why pay more for an other original wing?? We all go on the principle that if it costs loads of dosh it is reliable?/safe?/trustworthy?/value-for-money when in reality it's coz we pay the prices asked that's what is charged.

Fare enough the cost to invent design and constantly upgrade the wing 'technology' as this costs in someones elses time/money but this would have been incorporated in the prices so i say cut out the middle-man make simon a distributor ... lol

    Just a final thought..

could we not possibly get your other half simon to utilise the sewing machine and you cut out shapes and make youor own ' copy ' just tie a few bits of string to it and hey-ho you have an original wing in the making

  5. welcome to the sport ... it's good you done your traing elsewhere i'm still waiting the weather to get better to start properly.

If you fancy meeting up soon pm me as i live only down the road literally and would be good to start doing things nearer home as have to go to the other end of the world to play.

You'd be suprised how many will come out the woodwork.

Good choice of sport too 8)

  6. Just a passing observation but notice the 'Live' weather tab on the right ? Maybe it's just me but hey this report was done over 3 months ago so this leads me to believe that :-

    a) the ethiopians are way behind on the technology

    b) the pigeons sent with the report are not getting through to civilisation / being eaten by birds of prey

    c) said pigeons are not making it through international flight paths falling foul of some big jet engines

    d) weather has stopped completely in the country so havn't bothered reporting it.

Anyone else got any theories on this?????

  7. right it's been a long time and was thinking that if we could get enough people together dya all reckon that standing side by side possibly 3 deep we could all blow in the general direction the wind is coming to stop it??!!??!!

I have wanted to get airbourne but these powers that be dictate otherwise and may have to resort to pulling out the daily crossword in the hope the wind subsides.

Surely it can't blow all year ? it must need a break sometime ? maybe i could try reverse psycology on it and 'pretend' i'm not interested and want to take up chess  as a sport instead?

Any ideas to free my stressed mind greatly appreciated.:?

  9. Si just a question..............

was it not the case that you THREW poor said pooch into the river to try out some new gore-tex boots ( hence how your boots were wet inside - not from some phantom hole in the bottom) or have you got some other apparrel requiring just some sort of extreme testing??????

    Just a thought that all........
