TO AVOID: If you start to feel the wing 'sliding or slipping' during a tight slow turn, let your brakes up straight away to prevent a spin.

TO ENTER (do not do): You would have to slow the wing down considerably using both brakes and then let one of them up to enter a spin. This is not at all an intuitive thing to do for a Paramotor pilot and the situation should be avoided.

It's most likely to happen to a Paraglider trying to core a thermal with tight slow turns.

    Hi sw

was pilot ok or did he get any injuries so I guess this is down to pilot error sw

  2. hi all

I wear these plugs I used to work in a foundry had them made for very noise places

had foam pumped in to ear for mould then made of rubber last a life time very comfatable as well

not sure how much they cost but don't think they were cheep1494245510_20180603_141213(1).thumb.jpg.8448c81eb92d6c26c322122ca987f047.jpg

  5. Thanks guys for great advice will only fly if I'm 100% sure its ok I have cp rating paragliding but I don't think myself as being experienced flyer as didn't do much flying(big regret) :(

    cheers Chewi

  6. hi AndyB

Do you find that this weather windfinder forcasts to be right when you fly all the time or any other weather forcast you use or is it over time you get the feeling the time is right to fly?

It's very unlikely to stall, but it depends on a number of factors. How low in the weight range you are, how old and slow it is and is it suitable for towing etc? (I see the Alpha 3 is suitable for towing)

Looking at the history, the Alpha 3 is a 2003 wing or 15years old, personally I would look for something a bit more modern, you really are in vintage territory there.  Nevertheless, you are the one with the throttle in your hand, apply it gently at first and see how far back it goes (an experienced ground observer might be a better judge). The wing is most likely to spin when trying to turn in a climb, rather than power stall if it is close to the edge.

    Stuart.

    Thanks for reply stuart

wing is 12yrs old only flown 3 to 4hrs still crisp have bought new motor which is a eos 100 booster which felt more powerful than the rad mxl motor which I flew this wing on I'm at top end of weight range of glider with no problems

not sure if its just me over thinking stuff as ive not flown in a while

ensure you have checked your static hang propellor angle..if this is wrong that may be the cause of your problems with the new setup. If you are leaning back too far the chances of torque induced steer increases...particularly when more thrust is being produced.

im not sure whether swing arm pivot point height affects torque steer...i think it may.

Thank you for your reply adamjedgar am not worried about my setup was concerned that the thrust of new motor could cause the wing I have flow is only a dhv-1 paraglider wing so was wondering if power would push me to far in front of wing on full power to cause me problems

    cheers chewi

  9. I've flown my advance alpha 3 paraglider wing with a rad mxl 120 with no problems at all.I've bought an eos 100 booster paramotor

which feels like it has more power than the rad little pocket rocket I call it could the difference in power on full power that is put this wing closer to stalling point any advice

    regards chewi

  10. Thanks for reply sw have much to learn to get back into flying didn't realise how much you loose when you don't fly for years take off great as I said but the feelings when off ground was like first time ever if I'm honest now thinking I panicked a bit when wing bobbin about may have been turbulence off village were the field is not sure which made me tentative with throttle

I have another field which I can use which I clear of obstructions and used to use

    cheers chewi

  11. wind 3mph gusting up to 6 did some ground handling felt great geared up take off was spot on wing came up a dream 5 steps and up I went

the hanging point on paramotor are low on wasp eos 100 which is different to what ive flown before well that's all good stuff out of way

I was on and off the throttle like a little girl which I think was causing wing to feel it was all over the place not good for confedence ended up landing

have video but wont put it up lots of swear and angry words on it lol

its not scared me but need to think how to go forward safely be gentle with your answers lol :/

Depending on the quality of the oil you have mixed with the petrol, it can last for months. :-)

The EOS is a tiny bit funky to start, so if your having starting issues... it's probably not the fuel its self.

Welcome to the Paramotor Club! :-)

Thanks for welcome looks like a good place to get info and make new friends
