  1. My all up weight will be 135kg

Was talking to the local guys that fly and they said there is a huge difference between the 1.1 and xx.  I have a guy willing to sell his 1.1 24m with around 5 hours on it for 2 grand.  Everyone Ive talked to said go for the xx.  Is there a huge difference in performance?  I just want efficiency for xc.  Not concerned about slalom.

  2. the small piece of metal that springs the carabiner closed (not the twisty spring to keep it closed) I would assume this would still be considered safe to fly as long as you make sure its closed before flying.  Once its closed it stays that way.  Is there a tutorial on how to repair it?  I cant seem to get that piece of metal back in.https://goo.gl/photos/6dJsKXGd8pJuLGeE9

Buying from a dealer/manufacturer from another country is only good if you can get spares quickly and there responsive to your emails when you have problems. Having a local UK dealer may not be the cheapest route but generally the service back up pays for it self when you do get issues... There is nothing worse than having to wait 2-3 months for cage quarters etc..

This is true but my question is if anybody has dealt with these guys?  How was their experience with the paramotor?

I have not seen this frame but knowing where it comes from I definitely would not go for this option. Sorry, I do not want to post any negative personal comments here.

You cant post any more info on this?  Your comment is already coming off as negative so why does it matter what you say?  Would just like an honest answer.

Until you try,you want be know

But personaly I think its save some money and to buy known brand paramotor-no need to be expensive with good service and available parts, than cheap paramotor without chance of service and parts received with defects after 6monts :S

Ive heard from multiple people that the hpr180 is very reliable.  No engine is perfect.  As far as parts availability I have no experience dealing with zgppg.

The main factors that effect speed and efficiency include:

    Wing Loading

    Wing Size

    Wing Profile

Smaller wing, higher load = faster

Bigger wing, or lower load = slower.

The Profile bit is the bit that manufacturers vary and tweak from one wing to another and will effect speed and handling as well.

    SW :D

to my logic a fast wing would mean poor fuel economy being that 2 strokes by nature that high rev burn exponentially more fuel(im guessing this could be tuned if you needed better top end)  Would a wing profile that produces more lift be a slower wing?  Or maybe it has something to do with stability and wind resistance but then how could the wing go fast if the stability is causing more drag?

The Synth 2 is a great wing! :-) I think unless your planning on competition / economy flying, the difference in fuel consumption is almost irrelevant to 90% of Paramotor Pilots.

I am certainly more than happy with the combined consumption of all our school motors on the Synth 2's that we have.

Good decision on the wing your going to love it!

    SW :D

Thanks I hope so.  As long as I can tame the fast takeoffs and landings!  My last wing was a Jumbe and I was overloaded on that one as well and had no problems at sea level so I hope the same goes for the synthesis2. Ive been out of the flying scene for awhile so I might be rusty.

  8. Thanks for reply.  Im going with a dudek synthesis 2 for now.  It has nice speed but what I dont understand is people say it has poor economy? how can you have a semi fast glider with poor economy?  Im going to be somewhat overloaded on  the wing too.  125kg to its 115 max flying at sea level.  I hope this is ok?

Those that know me on Facebook have probably seen the engine pics, many from Sergy and some of my own plus a few other from else where.

I have been compiling a list that shows actual engine weight and actual thrusts where available and linking to a video of a thrust test.

I will add more details as I find them. I thought about adding a manufacture link. Have a look, what else would you want to see and any engines that I missed off. I know there are a few engines to add, I hope I have got all the popular ones listed.

hpr 180.  I think its a cheaper Chinese corsair or black devil clone.

  10. moving to slightly smaller frame.  Designer said it would fit a 130cm but to have safe clearance he recommended shorter props.  I have an older simonini mini 2 with 130cm props and would like to use them.  Im not even sure if the hole patterns will even work with newer motors but I was just curious if any of you had problems shortening your wooden props.
