Agreed though that it might be borderline. Will keep an eye on it for the next 24hrs before messaging Barry.

Weather dependant obviously. But forecast is for a clear day after a clear night so my guess is it could be a little bit bumpy and less enjoyable around midday, so probably first thing and mid-afternoon or both.
-
Anyone else for bunking off Friday and going flying?
Alex
-
Ouch look at that! Was it bumpy? I saw a paramotor over Barry's from my garden. Still hoping to get up at some point in the next few days, but been a way for the last month with work so have to work it around spending time with the other half.

Cool, maybe see you down there. There are lots of NOTAMs in place now in the run up to Farnborough Airshow so there are some restrictions on when you can fly.
-
Anyone planning to fly from Barry's this weekend or next week?
-
Just watching a couple of you fly back in to land at Barry's. Very jealous at not being able to get there tonight!
Happy flighting!

I'm Surrey based but originally from the Rye area and am hoping to start flying down that way soon. Alex

Who was flying around below me on the Hogs back tonight? Blue and White wing with a Red/Orange patch.
Alex

Super. Might see you there tomorrow then.
-
In the garden having tea and just seen a light come over the hogs back and seem to head down towards Barry's field. No noise. Does one of you fly a strobe?
-
Unfortunately im busy tomorrow night, Thursdays looking OK too though? The balloons are up here now, typical! I just need a few more flights I think before I'll be happy going flying on my own.
-
Ah OK, where can you get that live feed? I use windfinder and it reports the measured wind at Farnborough but it doesn't report gusts as such. I believe it's a kite surfing app so not as relevant I guess.
I missed that you'd edited your post so I went down to Barry's at about half 5 to see who was there. Looked a bit. Like this. Cloud Base was low

Forecasting a bit of rain later now. Going to leave work now and see how it goes. Could do with getting some fuel etc. Let me know if you want to know what the weathers like locally.

Are people still planning to fly tonight? If so I think I'll come along. 5pm?
-
No I didn't fly Paul, we were having a bbq and the last forecast showed the gusts increasing out of limits so I decided to have a couple of beers and avoid disappointment (as I thought). Took the dog out at dusk - no wind! Typical!
3 hours ago, paul_grover said:Did you get to fly Alex? I've recently moved back to London so Barry's is closest to me now. It would be good to meet up with others there.

OK, I'm looking at heading down to Barry's tomorrow evening. Wind looks to be dropping off later on, bit morning doesn't really work for me.

Anyone thinking of trying to fly this weekend from Guildford?
-
Who was out flying tonight? What was. It like? Looked perfect!

Is anyone else thinking of flying from Barry's field tomorrow night (Friday)? I suspect some people might be heading across to Borechasers, but if you are let me know. I'm only about 2 miles from Barry's field so really keen to get to know the people that fly there.

Ah OK, yea I have a PMR so thats good. Really just want someway that someone else can let me know if there's a problem given its new kit and a new area etc.
I don't have a vario as such at the moment but have XCSoar on my mobile and which has the airspace maps and a GPS altitude

Hi Cas,
That might be biting off a bit more than I can chew. Got my motor broken in last weekend and the recommendation is to keep to shortish flights for the first few running hours.
As I said before I completed my training in September, so this will be my first chance to fly my own kit. So look no to get in a bit of ground handling and a couple of 30-45 min flights. I'm free all weekend except Saturday aft/evening.
I also had a question about the vario's you mentioned. Is it just an baro so you know you're below the correct Flight levels? Also what do you fly in the way of comms?

Hi,
Is anyone thinking of flying this. weekend, weather permitting?

Hi All,
I'm another newbie to Paramotoring; I completed my training in September and my motor and wing should be ready at the end of next week. I'll be flying a Parajet v3 moster 185 plus under a Ozone Roadster 2.I live about a mile from Barry's field in Normandy and a couple of guys I know through work have flown from there, and have explained its a bit restrictive and about paying etc. Hoping to fly from there and hopefully find some other local sites and pilots, so I thought I'd leave my mobile number here (07748 212 700) and so if anyone is heading to barry's field in the coming weeks it would be great you could let me know, show me around etc and hopefully go flying.
Look forward to hopefully hearing from or meeting you.
Alex

You read my mind! I'm wondering if I should try and fit in a cheeky flight. Morning looks better.
