  1. Cleared cookies etc.

    Going to .org

    Still does the same!

Can't afford a MAC - spent money on a Parajet......

At least if you had bought a Mac you would now be using it  ..... Sorry couldn't resist...

And for those of you that might be thinking it's an issue with Parajet.. I happen to know it's actually a problem with his Pies.. and that's not a euphemism for certain parts of his body

  2. I dont actually think the classifieds is broken.. I bought my wing second hand using it. Worked brilliantly and has also provided further contacts for other equipment I might need to buy.

I dont like the idea of bidding for anything just like aquatix said in his post earlier..

I do however undertand the strong desire for you as the site owner to make it generate more revenue and cover its inherent costs

    Darren.

  3. I had one of those merc's as a curtesy car!!! I dont know how you put up with the fuel economy 25-29 to the gallon and i drove it like an old man too. I thought my Q5 was bad at 34-36

    :explode:

Ha ha ... You forget ..I am an old man and I get 31mpg if I am feeling really old :)

On antother note.. re: that second you tube clip.. I want one of those poles.. it will clearly assist my forward launch attempts

  4. Errrrm... you want me to purchase an app for £1.99 thats about as reliable as a chocolate tea cup.. so I can see the banners? Me thinks I'll give it a miss.

I suppose some peeps might have a use for cloud browse if they want to browse lots of flash content. If they do though an iPad shouldn't be the first choice for a tablet or slate device.

I'll put up with the white space and if I can't contain my curiosity I'll go switch on my PC

  5. Mine lasted to about 7 hours till it broke and after the new engine with the "magneto upgrade"

it lasted about 20 minutes, before it broke again

So what's the story with your Parajet now? When it broke for the second time how quickly was it replaced or repaired? Did the dealer do everything they could to help you on the second occaision?

If you are going to tell the story of your broken Parajet please complete it.. otherwise it doesnt help someone like me who is seriously considering one of these units.

As far as I can tell I have not seen or heard about a single Paramotor that has never had any problems..they all do to some extent.. what I would like to get a handle on is how easy is it to sort out once the problem has occured :)

  6. Great List Mark,

I guess you have just summarised all the important points I need to look out for so I am copying this list off to my PC now :D

I might want to take a look at a Bailey V5 in that case but I hear the wait list on them is very long?

The other item that puts me off with a Bailey V5 is the cost.. anyway lets not hijack this thread anymore i'll PM you if I need some more info on the Bailey.

    Cheers Darren.

  7. Hi Darren

One of the MIAN thing to look into when buying a new paramotor is.... Is there a dealer near you. so you can go and have a look/fly.... how easy is it to get parts.... What is the customer service like..... As you know i have a bailey and they are around 3 hours away from me.... I can tell you its a pain when you know you have to take it up to them as its a full day of driving and sitting around. Thats if they can fix it! if not it's another days driving..... Just think about the cost's of buying a euro machine with no dealer near by. posting it to spain/france is not cheap....

    Yorkshire is a long drive!!!!!!

Not sure there are many pilots on here that use/have these machines.... Have you tried going no to PilotsPPGclubUK on yahoo groups.... There are allot of comp pilots on there.... not sure any of them use these motor but worth a try...

    Hey Mark,

Thanks for the input and help. I can see this is going to be a tough decision whatever motor I choose. For me parts, service, and maintenance do play a part in any decision however so does reliability.

I guess I also dont want to end up with a motor thats always in for warranty/reliability issues with a reseller just down the road if the alternative might be a unit thats very reliable and rarely needs repairs or maintenance with a dealer that's far away.

I have heard, and been involved in lots of discussion recently about motors and never come away from those discussions with a clear idea of what to buy. Usually it's quite the opposite I know which motors I am not keen to buy!!!

I would still value someones view (who has actually flown it) on the Flymec motor as this is one unit that I had not come across until I read this post.

Still saying that..Yorkshire is dam long drive to go test a unit.

LOL ..decisions.. decisions.. I'll go look at PilotsPPGclubUK as I didnt know about that group either :D

  8. They look cool can't deny that fact 8) , And people who bash carbon fiber remember one thing not everyone are fans of Superdell TM and we all are sitting in front of WORLD WIDE WEB

Agree they look good but does Alan want to chime back in here and provide an update on how he is getting on with this Paramotor?

Looking good is always nice but how robust is the frame in practice and what is the reliability of the Sky motor like?

I have no wish to re-ignite a firey debate here... I would just like to see some feeback from someone who owns and flys one of these.

I am in the market for a motor myself and having seen many Pro's and Con's of other units I would be interested in views on this one...

and if you dont own and fly one of these units please keep any un-verified comments to yourself :)

    Thanks.

  9. Does this mean your days of trying to hide in a wing to get a flight are over? (yes I have the video to prove it!).

Concratulations - great feeling isn't it.

Looking forwards to flying with ya soon.

Hide in a Wing??? Me ? Never! :D

Yup have to say its a great feeling.. Now I'm sulking about the Weather..how dare it keep me from flying again!!!

Hope to fly with all of you soon enough and thanks for the support folks!

    Darren.

  10. Today I completed my first flight with Steve Haze as my instructor. Loved every second of it and was grinning like a Cheshire cat the whole flight.

Unfortunately Steve had to endure much sulking over the last few weeks as I stood in various fields ground handling and watching other pilots go flying so all credit to him for sticking to his guns and not putting me up until he was sure I was safe to fly.

Now I will be counting the days until the next flight!

    Darren. :wingover:

  11. Very nice videos Seymore and all I can say is I am very jealous right now having only spent the day on ground handling .... :fail:

Much appreciated regarding the use of your land today though ..its a lovely site ..I had better be quiet or else everyone will want to fly there

P.S keep and eye on Barrat the Jack Russell ..I think Steve wants to pinch him from you .
