Yep flying and loving every minute of it.

What about you? Is work getting in the way?

I just make time now..................and sod work! Gotta grab the weather when it presents itself.

So far the best flight for me to date was down at Dymchurch by the coast - brilliant

  3. Well, I thought its been so quiet on the Kent front here I'd drop a line.

A few of us fly out of Pedham Place Golf @ J3 M25........... on and off.

Today was bloooody cold but a flight had to be had!!

Vitaly and myself set up and took off. I only lasted just under an hour and Vitaly did just over an hour.

Usually I pack my kit up this time of year and wait for spring next year.

This year I am going to fly through winter - if possible?!

Taking off and flying in snow would be interesting?....any tips out there?

My hands as usual ..............more to the point - my finger tips froze!!!!!!!

    My suit held up well.

Still has to be the ultimate 'buzz' sport!!! :dive:

    Till the next flight.

  4. Hi Guys,

I have a PAP ROS125 (with decompressor). She (IT!!!) tends to start quite well when cold, a prime and a couple of pulls and she's away.

BUT... If on those odd occasions (ha ha) when I have to kill the engine (wing reset etc), she (IT) envariably won't restart for usually 10 minutes or so, then voila!!!

Any thoughts on what to check / change would be greatfully received.

    :explode:

    Hi Rob,

Do you mean when up in the air or on ground? I have a Ros 125..........starting from cold, prime only a couple of times and then start with throtte WIDE open, as soon as it kicks in ease off the throtte. When hot start (actually you probably do mean when-in air) then kick start with styrrup but make sure you dont depress the throttle ie leave it open......when it catches blip it and you are away.

    Works everytime with me.

    hope this is of help?

  6. Vinnie,

It was good to meet. Glad I can help in some way.

I have to be honest, after our chat I was shocked.......to say the least!!

A couple of the chaps I fly with have had similar experiences and finally changed instructors.

My personal early experience I have to say was not that bad....................but at the time I grew to be wary and doubted some of my training. Since then I have pretty much been flying on my own, but it is much nicer flying in the company of others.

I like to think that all 'us' pilots are ambassadors to the sport, helping newbies where we can to get them started in this great sport.

I am sure others will air their feeilings on here in due course..............

  7. This is probably a post for Alan.................as he appears to be the guru in all things radio.

I have a radio and peltor cans to communicate with fellow pilots but I am now after an intercom system. Is there anything on the market I can use with an ear piece(pieces), to be used in conjunction with my existing set up?................I am contemplating a set up for tandem use? The current radio set up I have has no fascility for plugging in so I am thinking a stand alone system? Rather than hard wired cables for linking with a passenger is there a remote radio type system available?.

Alan, any help or direction in this matter greatly appretiated.

    Mike
