Hi Gavin. i am just down the road at rushton. I am just starting out training wise so hopefully won't be too far behind you. I think there there is another chap local, I haven't spoken to him yet, but think I may have met him when he moved to the area a couple of years back (didn't know he flew at the time) did you you learn with Andy at airways? - any top tips at all? thanks alex

Thanks Macey, Reading through other posts I think that you arnt a million miles from me - i'll see how i get on next week, if it all goes well i would appreciate coming down for a nosey sometime - see how its done so to speak today is the first time i have seen someone go up for real. Suprisingly it didn't look as frightening as i thought it might. Pretty sure i'll be royally bricking it next week though!!

hi John, I looked at parapente (although not visited their site) - they are probably a bit nearer to me than airways. I thought i might get a bit more airtime and progress quicker learning on a tow. I would also like to learn to freefly as i guess this will make you a better pilot overall. Have you had any experience before or are you taking the plunge for the first time? Alex

hi everyone, i've been a lurker on here for a little while, and thought i would say hello. I'm Alex located Congleton Staffs /Cheshire. I have been looking to learn to fly for a while now, and after reading my way through various books etc i have decided to take the plunge and try my hand at paragliding with the intention of paramotoring after getting to grips with the wing etc. Thanks to those who have posted (especially on the blog section) as it definately has given me a flavour for learning. I have visited airways at ashbourne today and signed on for a taster next Saturday. Fingers crossed that the weather (and my nerve) holds up. Alex
