  1. Hi all,

I haven't posted for a while (I made the pmc smileys a while back), I'm looking for a bit of advice.

I've been asked by a local company who are producing a brochure for the council if they can use one of my aerial shots as it covers an area they will be developing in the future.

The photo I took around a year ago wasn't commisioned in any way, it's just one of many snaps I took out flying. I've let them use the photo in the past for free on their website as that was for information only, but they have now asked if they could use it commercially. This is where I need advice, has anyone here ever been asked the same question?

I'm thinking a small one-off usage fee for single use in their brochure, they wouldn't be buying ownership or copyright of the image. Are there legalities I need to be aware off, if not what do you charge, if anything?

    Any and all help appreciated.

    Regards

    Alan

  2. Hi,

Myself and a friend both trained on the Ozone Electron in our free flying days and still fly them today under power.

The following year after completing our CP's we spent 2 weeks in Pokhara getting in as much flying as we could, it was a lot of flying, only one day non-flyable due to low mist and the wings performed flawlessly. On one flight, through my own pilot error I ended up on the lee side of a very big mountain, it was absolute diaper filling rock'n'roll for over 500 feet until I eventually touched down with much relief in a villagers back yard, but all the way down the Electron was solid.

So thats 2 votes for the Electron :)

    Cheers

  3. Hi Norman,

Thanks for the interest in seeing my design, if you google 'alsparastuff' you'll find it on the 'zazzle' and 'cafepress' websites.

It's not me personally that's selling these items, they are just items that are using my design, they are US based sites too which doesn't help. It's a frustrating situation that I'm hoping to rectify maybe with help and pointers from others on the forum.

Being able to produce PMC branded versions of items in the UK for sale through simon's shop would be ideal and like Steve I will be going the full banner advertising route as soon as it's viable to do so, it's just early days at the moment, just throwing things out there, gauging interest etc

Hope you like what you see anyway, and all feedback good or bad is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Alan

  4. Hi,

Apologies Steve, last thing I want to do is hijack your thread. I was just contributing to the apparel subject as we share the same frustrations at lack of decent stuff this side of the pond and to prod you to see if there was any interest in doing something co-operatively to bring decent apparel out for the sport.

  5. Hi Haze,

I do like your designs very much and I can relate to the lack of decent UK based apparel. I recently designed a cartoon character flying a paramotor/paraglider and would like to utilize him a lot more.

All I've done with the design so far is applied it to items on US based sites where the items are just made to order with a piddly commission going to the designer. I would love to do something better (not sure what yet, some kind of co-operative effort maybe) with UK contacts and be able to offer physical items to sell, hopefully through Simon's site if he's interested.

I'm a friend of weesplat and i've been paramotoring for a good few years now but I'm new to the group. I don't know the policy on plugging designs or items, url's etc. so i'll wait to hear if I can.

Simon - Is posting the url to the US sites showing my design on items in a forum a no no?

    Cheers

    Alan
