Excellent. Say hi to Theo and Simon the instructors. Word of advise, don’t get carried away on your first night in Algodonales with the beer as we did. Enjoy

    ant.

    Oh the temptations lol ,

I learnt my lesson in 2013 drinking the night before a track day at Donnington!,

I had a massive high side at Redgate resulting in a severely smashed up arm  needing 3 plates and a lot of screws!.

I think the hang over was a factor so will 100% reign the beer in Ant.

Hi Pete and welcome to PMC.

If you're interested then just get on with it. :-) The weather gets in the way but also gives us fabulous windows, especially in the winter.

Skydiving is a bit different, especially in that it is over rather quickly whereas you can stay up for hours with PPG if you want to.

If you can hook up with some pilots in your area then you will learn a lot by going along when they are flying. YouTube videos are very different to real life, I've seen more than one person buy kit and sell it as soon as they realised there was effort, noise, vibration and a learning curve to deal with. Hang out with some pilots, maybe get a tandem flight (definitely worth travelling for - somewhere Like CMP Paramotors is highly recommended) hang out some more with pilots, learn to ground handle, preferably with a decent school ...

Hope you enjoy the jourmney. :-)

I booked the Zero to Hero with Fly Spain this morning.

My course is 35 April 2019

Well FlySpain were excellent. The instruction was brilliant and lots of good banter leading to a good atmosphere, location excellent with stunning views. Can’t fault FlySpain. Weather wise, some days 38c and some days a chilling 32c. Which then leads into the only slight problem which was thermals. We would start flying at first light until 10am poss 11am. 3 or 4 hours worth before the thermals got to bad and the instructors got nervous. Then off back to the accommodation for the longest siesta of your life followed by an evening session which was hit and miss with the wind. Overall a great experience and I will be back for follow up courses. Avoid to much beer and good food, great little restaurants didn’t help with avoiding hangovers.

I am a mile south of Stretton and have some land here. I am using my neighbors land which doesn’t get used for anything so it’s all mine. So to start off with the plan is to take it softly softly and not piss the neighbors off. Basically don’t shit on your own doorstep. But once all settled in then possibly get other guys to fly in and start encouraging more flying in my area.

Thanks for taking the time to reply Ant,

It's fantastic knowing there are people nearby in this sport and hope to meet you in the future, Fly Spain sounds spot on , I watched a vid of some guys doing  acro training there and I thought they seem advanced instructors so a higher ceiling for the future maybe.

    Thanks again Pete.

  4. Hi Ant your set up sounds perfect!,

How was your course?.I have contacted Mid Wales PPG centre and they have a slot in Costa Blanca in May.

I'm still in the research stage still watching loads of videos and waiting for a book to land.

I live in Lowton now near Leigh originally from Appleton Thorn.

  5. Thanks for your reply , I have contacted Mid Wales PPG centre via ebay and looks like I can do their Costa Blanca course in May 2019.

The temps are not so high then 19-22 degrees c but hopefully I can complete in the week.

A guy local to me has kindly offered to (Phil) let me meet him for a chat advice etc and to see how he flies so I'm looking forward to that and ordered a book on Sunday so slowly getting the ball rolling.

Thanks again chaps for the input.

    Pete.

When I am well I fly every day I can from 2 sites near Middlesbrough.

However, I had a disc fused 9 weeks ago. Brilliant op until 2 weeks later another disc said bugger off. I have been lying on my back in this sodding hospital bed ever since. I can't stand, sit or walk now! Hopefully someone will fix me.

Sorry to hear about your problems , I've also had a loads of oops , it's just patience and time.

Good luck soon be back at it.

  7. Hi

I recently did a sky dive which in turn got me interested in paramotor watching Tucker Gott etc.

I'm keen to learn next year and live in Warrington (Northwest).

I have seen a local club in Manchester and a course in Spain.

My main worry 're the sport is will I be limited where to fly and obviously the UK weather will limit things as already happens to me with my other hobbys motorcycling and drone flying.

Any advice would be gratefully received

    Thanks Pete.
