  1. Finally found a great Roadster2! 3 months old, 2 flights on it, guy needed money.  Kited it for the first time last night, seems decent, my old edel power atlas doesnt have split A's or a speedbar, Trimmers are different, so alot of extra stuff on the risers to get used to.  Look forward to my first flight, wx is supposed to be crappy for a week. :/

  2. Ok, so I have about a 100 hours on my Thor 130 converted back to a manual start so far all good..!

I resolved the kick back issue by replacing the pull start handle with 8mm bungee cord. Easy to start and if it does kick back them it doesn't rip out of my hand.

I also found that the the kick back seems to happen when it's overly primed, so am now very careful to just prime a little and use the choke to finish off.

    Matt

    Hey Matt,

Do you have a picture of how you did the bungee? Mine kicks back hard and it sucks.

  3. Hey I'm from Cloverdale which is ten minutes north of the border from blaine, washington. I would love to fly with others and might be flying and kite buggying on the Washington coast near grayland. Pm me if your interested.

Cool, buddy and I seen someone flying by white rock last summer, was that you? We fly at Semiahmoo and could see them across the water, I think it was white rock anyway...

  4. FYI

For those looking to replace there non flash starter..

Do bother with polini's rebranded Briggs and Stratton Starter Recoil

Get a GENUINE Briggs & Stratton like this one:

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/GENUINE-Briggs- ... 5d3e49ec03

Exact same as the polini one, most lawnmower places can source one. I got one in an hour of looking for one.

Don't be tempted to buy non original, I can confirm there are shite and made of Swiss cheese !!!!

Why the heck didnt you post that a week ago? My polini one shipped last night finally.

Now if I can get someone to answer about adjusting the thor100 clutch..

    Thanks

  5. I took it off and cleaned it all up, the end of the rope inside the starter somehow came out. Anyway, it works smooth now.

How hard was it to disconnect the flash starter? Did you keep the engine attached to the frame whilst doing it?

Pretty easy, when you move the 'seat' out of the way you can reach everything pretty well. I loosened all the engine bolts, and took the bottom two totally out so I could angle the motor to get it off.

  6. Finally someone from Washington ..lol. So your in Lynden. I'm in Stanwood (north snohomish county) . I'm just getting into the sport and I've had a hard time finding a forum in our neck of the woods myself. If you see this shoot me a message. :coptor:

    Messaged ya!

Ive found a handful of people around the state, theres a few out there, but not alot!

  7. Learned a little about wings last night, found a local PPG flyer, and he let me kite his wing, it was much easier and I had no problems.. He tried kiting my wing, and had problems, so Im happy to know its not just me, its my wing... His said Muse 3 on the wingtip, mine is an edel power atlas.
