  1. Hi all.

Just a little note to say that five years ago I was in the same position as many of you, learning how to forward and reverse launch, what was reflex and all the other areas of how to fly a paramotor. I am now very proud to say that I have gone from a PMC student, to a member of the British team.

Becoming a member of the team came purely from doing well at my first comp. Now I'm not saying that you will all become team members, or that you would even want to, but take it from me, comps are GREAT fun. You are with like minded people who WILL NOT judge you and are very willing to help and give advice.

The Discovery group has now made it even easier to get into the comp scene so come on, have a go, it's a whole new reason to go flying :wingover:

  3. Hi Dave

Yeah the thrust isn't too bad at all but the engine just seems a bit flat at top end, it may well be fine and it could be the rev counter at fault, it's set for one fire per rev but I will double check.

    Many thanks Jamie

  4. Got a full service kit for carb so will give that a try. Will ask FAF Col to look at the pop off pressure as I think it's surposed to be higher than we set it last time, so maybe it is a bit rich.

  5. Hi Pete, it's the prop that was on it when I bought it, (unlike yours lol ) the machine seems to have fairly good thrust but I don't think the engine is giving quite as much as it was, just sounds a bit flat at top end. Plug looks good so I don't think it's running rich. Do you know if those rpm figures are with or without prop, coz I don't think I'll get anywhere that.

  6. Hi all. Anyone know what the top 80 should rev to, I have found a figure of 9000 rpm ! I'm guessing that is not spinning a prop but I don't like to rev an engine unloaded. I'm spinning a 125 cm Helix carbon prop with a 3.8/1 reduction and revving out at 4950 rpm any ideas, just seems a bit low. Thanks J

  7. Just had a quick 15 mins on my new Fusion 20..... oh......my.......god.... there is only a small chance that you would have more fun on a tandam rig with Myleen Class :D

Sorry Col im keeping it, but your more than welcome to take it for a spin mate. :D

  8. Many thanks Alan at least i know which one im looking for. Do you have any advice or tips on flying in France, i have flown in Spain but this was an organised trip, this one im very much on my own. Thanks again for your help. :dive:

  9. hi all, off to France on hols soon, hoping to get in a bit of flying but left it a bit late to get an air chart, looking to fly in the area of Guehenno which is south west of Josselin (47*57'0"north 2*33'0"west) southern Brittany, may also go over to the west coast but not sure where yet. If anyone has a chart of this area and could let me know of any airspace or restrictions i would be very greatfull. :dive:

  10. Does anyone have a small harness that i could try out on my PAP 1100as? I am currently using a med which means the swing arms are almost in my arm pitts, not very comfortable, and when i come out of the seat they are !!!!! which makes the flare difficult. I have some thick foam in the seat at the mo which helps but is not ideal, and i have lost that nice bum down kness up seating position.

If anyone can help with a try and possible buy, that would be great :dive:

  11. Well ive had that day in the workshop! and there's a lot to be said about starting with the easy stuff first. Battery was fully charged before going to Spain (so i thought) and, as everyone who was there will say, it was cranking very well, Simon actually said "sling the motor and fly using the battery". It would appear that i was getting a false reading from the battery charger, having used a different charger it has gone from cranking at warp factor 10 to warp factor 20 and starts no problem. :D but why it started so easy on the cord is still a mystery as the starter was still cranking it faster than you could ever pull start it !!!

Many thanks for all your ideas :dive:

  12. Can anyone help...........

My 1100as has become more and more reluctant to start on the button, and finally whilst in Spain it let me down all together yet one pull on the cord and away it goes :?

The starter and ignition system are totally seperate so the starter is not drawing all the power. The coil was changed some time ago......... any ideas?????
