Steve
Just had the sad news confirmed that we lost Dean Eldridge today. No details yet but I'm sure it won't be long until the full news is available.

Steve
He was one of the best. It seems he was wing testing in Spain (I would guess for Ozone maybe?) and crashed yesterday but died today in hospital. No further details yet.

raptor1
I was lucky to have been taught by Deano and was also lucky to have known one of the nicest blokes you could ever meet. Rip Deano one of life's true Gentlemen gone to soon!

Guest
All, A couple of the guys would like to arrange a memorial flight for Deano at the PMC fly-in so if your interested in taking part in this, keep and eye on the main event notice board for information. Al_B_revo2
It's been some time. Why haven't we heard more about the accident? I just received a note from someone that knew Dean well and he says "they are being very guarded on this". As it stands with me, the last thing I want to do is learn acro or slalom. God bless Dean and those that greatly feel the loss. Al
Steve
Who are 'they' that you refer to? Deano was on his own when the accident happened, Emilia found him shortly afterwards, he was conscious when the paramedics arrived but died later in hospital. Guest
Given that there was no one else there when it happened I guess we will never know exactly what caused this horrible accident. It's shit but sometimes when accidents happen the answer is never known I think this will be one of those cases. I wasn't the person stating the "they" but I would guess he could be referring to anyone from manufacturers to friends. Here in the States we are encouraged to report any accident of any amount to better understand where we can make flying safer and prevent it from happening again. Guest
The ethos is the same here in the UK thankfully, but on this occasion I just can't see how information can e extracted to any useful level..?? It would of course be good for all to know at least if it was a kit issue or not as that is the question on many people's minds.
