martinpa
hi, I checked my machine (Bailey V5) over tonight and notice that there is a little play in the bearing on the large pully belt. I slackened the v belt to check the amount of play without the tension and there is some movement, but it's not excessive. But I will contact Paul about getting a replacement. Do other people have any play in their's and if so how much. My machine has done about 90 hours. The belt hasn't been too tight. So I assume it's just normal wear Paul Edited August 29, 2014 by Guest
morgy
Hi Paul There is not meant to be play in that bearing, I take it you have the pulley and eccentric shaft in your hand feeling the play? If it still in the top of the Crank case the play might be from there. make sure it's tight.
martinpa
The shaft is securely clamped, so the play is in the bearing. I've emailed Paul Bailey to see what he says. I assume it's easy to replace. Anybody had to replace one before, or know how to do it? I assume it is a push fit. Paul
martinpa
All sorted now, I needed a new pully, as the bearing housing was worn.
