ptwizz
Aeronautical legend and autogyro guru Ken Wallis passed away at the weekend, aged 97. I was fortunate enough to meet the man in person on a couple of occasions. Mr Wallis was an eloquent speaker, easily able to keep the attention of the normally argumentative gathering of the Kings Lynn model engineering society. His passing is a sad loss, especially to those of a similar engineering disposition.
SimonP
agreed, sad news, great character and always happy to have a chat on the couple of occasions I met him. Another one out of the same mould I have had the fortune to meet for those interested in these inspirational flyers, is Eric "winkle" Brown, he's 94 and has an amazing book out called wings on my sleeve, its must read to fully understand what it used to be like for test pilots in the post war era
