s1buell_wl
I fly quit a bit. I bought a 130 carbon fiber prop for the miniplane last year. I love the prop it has just enough thrust (really don't need any more). However I'm getting a little worried its starting to disintegrate. The main edge is really starting to disappear. Before it gets really bad is there some coating I can put on this to stop/slow the process down? Prop Helix Top 80 Carbon Fiber Propeller - 2 piece 130cm It is a thin prop compared to others I've seen but its works really well. notch
If you fly in sandy places it common for the prop to get "sandblasted". I use a few layers of clear-coat (paint), then re-balance it.
s1buell_wl
Thats what I was thinking but then I wondered if there was some light weight epoxy or thing else. You need to rebalance after adding to both sides?
Guest
Helicopter tape. (but its expensive.) I stripped 2 cotes of 2 pack laquer off a set of blades in the Sahara in about 2 weeks. I found this one too. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3M-Clear-Heli ... 3cce60faea plastic, 3M Paint Protection Film was initially designed to protect helicopter blades from debris during the Vietnam War. $7 looks good too. I like this option better then paint I would like to think its something in the air here too but I'm starting to think its could be the marathon feet drags I've been doing down the beaches lol I think sunday I did a 200-300 meter drag Just might have something to do with it......... cheers
