Fair one Pete.

I will be avoiding Polini engines like the plague after the hassle I've had with mine & the way Polini are burying their head in the sand with the 200's problems.

more fool you then m8... how many have gone bang due to polini's QA or owners not having a clue what they are doing with carb jets and needle settings?

If I buy a Paramotor I don't want to have to f about with carbs, needles, jets or any of that crap.

Same if I purchased anything else with an engine.

I know it doesn't take much to confuse me, but if you buy a paramotor and the engine gives problems or ceases to work can't you go back to the trader that sold you the item and get a replacement under the Trading Standards legislation. Items have to be 'Fit For Purpose' which in the case of aviation issues, surely has to be rigorously applied.

I have talked about Fit For Purpose with a litigation lawyer friend who specialises in this field (Trading Standards) and she can not believe how lax the paramotor world is. We all go along, hand over thousands of pounds for items and there are no contracts concerning airworthyness or certification.

It all seems to be done on a 'gentlemans agreement' (can I still say that??) basis with no legal foundation whatsoever.

So, if a Polini engine, or any other engine for that matter, plays up withing at least 12 months of purchase, why aren't replacement units being sought. There seems to be legal foundation for this not unreasonable demand. Its what trading standards are all about..

If your new car plays up, its straight back to the dealership.

Rob

Polini have now sealed there walbro carb. The PWK carb is meant for people who know how to tune and want the max performance out of there machine IE comp pilots!!!

Its like having a sports car with fully adjustable suspension. Great if you know what your doing but if you dont you will crash. You cant go back to the dealer saying i crashed it because your car is shit... Its because you tinkered with sir!!

I am not saying all issues are the fault of the owner. But my guess is most are bad fuel wrong oil or bad tuning.

This is the only engine I know of that you have to set your own jets/needle on, WHY

all the other engines more or less run as they were sent from the factory.

If I buy a bike or a car I do not have to change jets ect.
