The edges of the air can be recognized by the appearance of ground, buildings, sea, trees and interstellar space. It is much more difficult to fly there. SW you could also add to the above. 4. your arrival at the edge will be accompanied by the arrival of some unfamiliar sounds, namely metal breaking, props splintering and bones shattering, usualy followed some time later by the sound of sirens blaring.
