Fly_mow
Sitting in my garden earlier enjoying the nice weather (now we can't fly) just chilling watching the birds and the clouds and the two flex wing microlights flying over then I realised, what the F*$K are they doing up there!!! Can any one enlighten me? Or are they just giving the olympics two fingers? I live in east tilbury in Essex so I'm will in side enemy territory!! pete_b
Registered aircraft and they file a flight plan, but they might have to have a transponder fitted as well. Air band radio also. Edited July 15, 2012 by Guest
outkast
Stu, you can fly in the olympic airspace area, but you need to file a flight plan to the CAA and carry an airband radio, also some schools have been allowed to carry out training flights at cost. Fly_mow
Oh I see. Makes sense. So if people go down the "registered wing for insurance reasons" route, they can fly if they file the paper work? And the transponder part. But as the sport goes, once ya registered, insured, filed flight plan, registered transponder and got a nice day to fly it will be all over with anyway! Cheers boys. Bring on the 14th August!
Guest
Guys, By way of limiting the numbers in what I see as a fair way.... ( 'Paid PMC members' who are effected by the airspace closure are more than welcome at Membury during the duration of the temp airspace. I need a quick call the day before so that I can give you a heads up. (PLEASE) dont just turn up. Camping can also happen in my back field ( which now has a set of runways!! :-) SW
