finding0 Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 Do aviation gps systems show restricted air space? Is there any units that do this and are "affordable"? Raising $8000 for the paramotor is enough ........... so much money! Quote
morgy Posted May 26, 2012 Posted May 26, 2012 Buy a normal gps and a map... I used a map and compass for 2 years never got lost PLUS being new to the sport you won't be doing massive XC's anyway Quote
phil1975 Posted May 26, 2012 Posted May 26, 2012 I'm with Morgy. When I was learning I thought a gucci moving map would be the way to go, but most of these are expensive or have poor battery life or or hashed up from a PDA. I'm actually happier with a paper map & GPS, flying slowly at 1000 feet gives you a pretty good view & makes mapmreading really easy. Quote
pete_b Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 Airbox is the one you want. It will show and warn you of airspace. You can now get an app for the Iphone and Ipad. Contact Simon if want the hardware system. This is what was used on the Flight for Heroes that we have just successfully finished Quote
