stuartasutherland
Great demonstration. Would you 100% trust this? I'm not sure I would buy one as even if i was wearing it, I would probably prefer not to fly over water. I'm a new pilot so perhaps still nervous of such a dunking! gordon_dunn
Yes Stuart- that's the right attidude. Although these devices can arguably save lives, sometimes they encourage people to take greater risks by flying over water. Another aspect that is often overlooked when talking about flotation vests is thermal protection. If you land in the sea anywhere around the UK i wonder how long you could actually last considering the sea temperature.... Maybe OK in summer, but Autumn/Winter could be as low as 15-20mins. clivefreeman
Well if we want to go places (in our area) at some point we have to fly over water. We are surounded by it , with rivers and lakes all an atraction. So its something i will definatley look into.... But like you say best to keep away , but sometmes unavoidable !! coggie49
Is there any chance this vest could inflated by getting wet, say in a heavy rain etc. Not trying to be stupid, but if it is water activated and water gets in, who knows And with that thing around your neck blown up could you still fly.
