digidydawg
Mounted my new Contour GPS on my helmut for a flight but didn't like all the movement ..... can't stop moving my head around so much .... then tried mounting it above the front wheel of my Nirvana Carbon Trike. Loved the location and the image and could pan the camera left to right with my feet but getting too much vibration. Any thoughts on how to mount and dampen down the vibration? thanks dd
pete_b
You could mount it on rubbers (as like the engine) soft ones,
t_andrews
Unless you train yourself to use your eyeballs rather then your head and always be aware of having the camera on your head, a thigh mount is the most stable I've seen. It allows limited movement and your less likely to be flailing your legs around then turning your head. Gyro stabilised rigs are disqualified from commenting due to their awesomeness ;-P

Guest
A gyro stabilises (some of the movement)... But will not get rid of Vibrations... SW

t_andrews
Just meant that my gyro comment prompted a gyro guys response is all Simon. I wasn't fishing for secrets Sorry digidydawg for hijacking the thread. To Pete's point, rubber blocks, your body, or some other flexible interim isolator between vibe source and camera is the only way to rid footage of vibration. pete_b
For normal filming if you get a knee brace and fit a mount on it above the knee it gives a good stable platform.
