flyingdoc
Hi all, I am about to go on holiday to the lakes and wondered about taking my kit up to catch some air time. Are there any special rules in that area with regards to RAF flying etc? Where can people regularly fly? Best places to avoid? Etc, etc. Any help or ideas gratefully accepted. aquatix
Standard military low flying rules so CANP (Notam) any midweek flying. http://www.caa.co.uk/docs/33/ga_srg_09webSSL18November.pdf Not sure of any regular 'open' launch sites but you should avoid any of the free flying sites listed here: http://www.cumbriasoaringclub.co.uk/SiteManagement/CSC_OSMapSites.php and maybe contact the club for info / advice as some areas are a bit sensitive, especially for noise. If you are in South Lakes then Morecambe Bay area and coastline is regularly flown by paramotorists. If you find any other good sites I would be up for a visit sometime.
