alan_k
Just come across this strobe, thought it was a good price: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Paramotor-Strobe- ... 2788wt_901 Cheers, Alan Just found it even cheaper http://www.aberdeenwatersports.com/shop ... ?item=1246
irm750
Thanks Alan. That looks like a really useful find. Would be good to be able to attach for dusk flights. Being tough enough to withstand diving to 500m depths it will hopefully also be tough enough not to be an effective petrol fume ignitor in the case of a crash! Cheers, Ian. dugald
I've got one of those (was a 'throw-in' when I got my motor). Its pretty robust although a little heavy with the battery in. It gives off a good bright flash.
paramotormike
Here is a review compared to a slightly more expensive competitor! http://www.direxplorers.com/general-div ... n-aq4.html Mike
garyfreefly
I had one of these zip tied to my paramotor for years.....noboby ever noticed it was switched on unless I was flying near to dusk I think you pay for what you get..... ps I replaced it with a flying teddy......with a zip tie around his neck and everybody noticed that
aquatix
I think you pay for what you get..... I use the Microavionics 12v strobe, powered from the motor - it is visible in daylight and from about 5 miles away at dusk. Can't imagine flying without one now. dugald
Where is the best place to attach the strobe, and how should it be fixed? I would like it to be removable, so was planning on just using the stretchy velcro strap that came with it. Couldn't really find a good position where it was out of the way, secure, visible at all angles, and not likely to vibrate against the frame.
