Kobra new 4 stroke

I guess it makes sense not to re-invent the wheel when you can just paint it green ... :wink:

Received this in an email yesterday:

By the way in Las Candelas really good, thanks, nice weather and good feedback from the 4 stroke and trikes presented.

Our future is strong in the 4 stroke arena, and even Paul Bailey was surprised by what he has seen in our stand… Lighter engine than his V5, but still there in thrust… Anyway we are still not finished.

You will know when it will be finished.

Kobra claim 57kg thurst with 125 prop,so a 130 should give a few more.looks like they have sorted the gx.....

the price will be on the same brand that a vittorazi or ros 100

two stroke engine.

the maximun thrust taht we get is with the helix 120 cm three blade

propeller over 61 kg but is noiser than the 125 and 400 grms heavier.

the weigh of the engine is 13 kg empty , complete with reduction , carburator

exaust and with the walbro wg8 , with a normal carburator mikuni or similar

0.3 kg more .

with oil and float carburator over 14 kg.

the paramotor complete weigh depens of frame and arnes.

ligh weight arnes and titanium will be over 23.5 kg

with regular supair and two part steel cage 26.5 kg

with four part cage and regular arnes from kobra 27.250 kg.

Thats fantasic 61kg from the gx200.will you be selling kits ie=frames reduction etc or just the complete paramotor.we in eggmotor world knew it would work,esp after bailey flew there gx200,,,

Well the decision is not taken yet.

problably both of them.

if finally we sell the kit it will include the engine , because not all the blocks

suport the extra power and also the vibrations.

the head has special work on it and is expeciliciated not for amateurs .

you ask in the egg forum wich one is the engine block , well is not a problem

for us tell wich one , but not all of them suport our specifications.

by the way some of the modifications that we make can not be maded in another .

we begun this proyect 6 years ago , you can see in ojovolador news 2005

and we have been testing blocks for 5 years to see the betters one .

only two of them suport this tests.

we see movement arround this mecanic , but most off them make stress to it , the way does not come for how many power you can get , the way is how many power i do not lose in the way .

with the three blade 130 hf 30 from helix power is more than 65 kg , but this propeller is very expensive and also the time to give complete power is more than 5 seconds , when actually is instant ( 2 seconds from iddle to 6500 rpm ) and 3 seconds from 1800 rpm to 7200-7400 full throtle .

the job inside is bigger than outside , some people thinks that is only a generator with carburator , exaust an poley.

i would not like to tell wich one is better or bad because there is a lot of

people working on diferents solutions and maybe the one that are goods today are not tomorrow .

It is a incredible combo , the way is study all the options not all the pieces of reputations manufacturers are goods because they made them to variable throtle range , not for continius use , they works but not full trothle .

the better block are the hxxxa gx 200 japanesse

and one special from tahiland modifided for special aplication , that should be

threat tratament to relax tension and sand surfaced because painting do not suport temperature .

respect the wg8 is fully modifided , the principal advantage is that this kind of carburator do not put fuel inside that mixed with the oil brokens all inside.

but his working is rude ( Paul dixit ) , start is sometimes not good , and another problem is that the open presure is so low that if y ou do not open the air of the fuel tank pums fuel dirrectelly outside from the carburator.

for the rest works fine, we are working in a float carburator that will be lower the carburator hole to prevent the pumping of fuel inside the block .

the filter is not for the oil , is for prevent mixing and have more oil inside

the block , because with 9 litres you can fly more than 4 hours and the oil consuption is important , at this time the pumping stops but the level of the oil inside the engine is enough to fly 3 hours more.
