Guest
A top day was had at Membury Airfield. It IS just like the most amazing paramotor site in the country bar non! We have (on site) Starbucks Burger King ( puke ) Waitrose A hotel (no booking required) AND A petrol station and cash points. all inside of a 90 second walk from the mowed flat 360 o take off. We had a busy day to bed the site in. Cheers! Wine, bath, bed. SW
dean_barker
I flew past in the afternoon and thought I saw some wings on the ground. Inside a big mowed circle? Sounds (and looks) like a great spot.
peter_6095
Here's the video of my first landing at Membury Airfield, taken this afternoon. Not very exciting but gives you an impression of what the site is like. It felt like landing in front of a grandstand with some of paramotorclub.org's finest watching on - lots of pressure not to make a mess of the landing! Is there a KFC at the services? Indeed that is the PMC circle. (with central spot landing zone) Saw you buzz past on a synth. And yes Pete, there is a KFC. SW
Guest
Ref: the spot landing.. We have already formed a club rule. Which is.... EVEY time anyone takes off from Membury he / she has to try and land in the center circle every time they land. Were not talking Comp style touch the ground and land somewhere else spot ladings here.. were talking a real spot landing on the spot. It will mean that we always know the landing pilot is heading for and that we will all become very good at spot landings. And it's fun. garyfreefly
good Idea.......What happens on nil wind days..... (if you get them ever) .. ...if say four pilots decide to land at the same time..... will there be a video camera available to film.. the carnage they will all know where to land .......but not everyone will choose the same approach.....love it

And safety always over rides the spot landing... Now come on... why try to find fault? Its a perfectly safe and fun idea. Be happy and join in the fun. :D SW
haze
A paramotor site with a Starbucks and KFC? Awesome!! You're going to have some fat pilots soon! Better order in some Paramania Taxis! Part of teaching someone to land is to look for other conflicting traffic as well as obstructions on the ground. If Carlsberg had made this field it would be slightly dome shaped! aquatix
Here's the video of my first landing at Membury Airfield, So what was the penalty for breaking Club Rule No.1 and missing the centre spot ? A round of Starbuck's for everyone ???
coggie49
Looks like the first round is on you Simon, you missed the spot ( or was that before you made the rule ) I see you have mowed a nice strip for the Microlight visit, probably one evening next week if your fly?
